First time dining at Sel, the restaurant was recommended to us by friends. I went on the Sel website and saw the “Off Hours Bourbon” event, which was right up our alley. When we arrived we were warmly greeted. The restaurant is small and has bar, main and patio seating. The atmosphere has a very warm, country, bistro feel.

The event started with a reception where I had the pleasure of meeting the Chef’s wife May, who was so nice. What followed after the reception was a 4 course dinner pairing with crafted Bourbon cocktails and a pure tasting of the bourbon that was used for the cocktail and the accompanied dish. The dishes were a Beef Tenderloin Steak Tartare, Seared Duck Breast, Hanger Steak Au Poivre followed Mousse Cake for dessert.

The presentation, taste, timing of the whole meal along with the cocktails was outstanding. It was truly a very enjoyable evening.

Atmosphere: small Bistro feel. Service: excellent. Food: excellent

We had a lovely evening here. The restaurant is very cozy and romantic, with a warm atmosphere and lovely service. The chef’s menu is thoughtfully put together, and we enjoyed what we ordered.
That said, we would have loved to see a few more vegetarian options. I had noted in the reservation that one of us is vegetarian, and while the host asked who it was when we arrived, we were then given two identical menus and the topic wasn’t mentioned again. Our server also didn’t acknowledge it, which felt a bit odd especially after being asked, but it didn’t ultimately take away from the evening.
Overall, we had a good time, enjoyed the food and the ambiance, and would happily come back.

No lie — Sel was so good my colleagues and I went two days in a row! Every single thing we tried was incredible. The staff and chef were absolutely amazing — welcoming, genuine, and clearly passionate about what they do. The food was flawless, from start to finish, and don’t even get me started on the desserts… a prosecco dessert and a marzipan — wow! If I lived closer, I’d be a regular in a heartbeat. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. And the indoor and outdoor seating was beautiful!!

Incredible experience. They were very willing to modify things for my girlfriend’s dietary restrictions and made up a dish on the spot for her. I had the filet mignon and it totally floored me. Great ambience and amazing food and the staff was so awesome. Really nice and very invested in their customers. An amazing experience.

Sel is truly exceptional. The food is top-notch, the steak is absolutely drool-worthy, and the seafood options are just as impressive. Every dish feels intentional, with a beautifully well-thought-out menu and layered, balanced flavors. The intimate setting makes it a perfect romantic date-night spot. One of those places you keep thinking about long after the meal is over.

It was a really nice atmosphere, but my family and I were here for two hours for 2 apps and 3 entrees. It was a very long wait to even get the wine out, maybe 25 minutes. Appetizers took another 30 minutes and entrees another 30 minutes. Not sure if it is always like this. Atmosphere is great, our waiter was very nice but kitchen was just slow. Usually I wouldn’t complain but their servings aren’t huge either so waiting that long in between with not a lot to eat is hard.

SEL is the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. It feels modern and elevated, yet welcoming—no pretension, just incredible food and service. Every dish is a journey, rich in global flavors. From smoked trout roe to oxtail with pickled kumquat and spring citrus, each course is a masterful balance of sweet, savory, and smoky.

The Five-Course Land Tasting is hands down one of the best options—decadent without being over-the-top, and surprisingly affordable compared to fine dining in cities like Vegas or New York.

Joel, our server, was phenomenal. His storytelling brought life to the dining experience—sharing memories from Mexico, New York, and Chicago that made us feel like we were traveling beyond the table. His passion and personality made the evening unforgettable.

Thank you to the chef, the owner, and especially Joel for such a memorable night. We’ll absolutely be back.

Wow, just Wow! Very impressive good thing I didn’t have socks on because they would’ve been blown right off. Ambience was brilliant and I love all the plants. This is a special place for a special event although it wasn’t my birthday or anniversary. It was just wonderful for my husband to take me on date night. We did the five plate dinner and it was opulent. They taste and presentations were outstanding. Katelin, the hostess and Josh our wonderful and experience mixologist, the owners are Brandon and May, are delightful? Our waiters were Joel and Lucino who did a fabulous job.
Everyone there felt like family. Our experience was a bit pricey, it was worth every dollar. $100 plus a person.
I WOULD RECOMMEND

SELLS ITSELF SHORT

Our Friday night anniversary supper started off well with some complimentary bubbles and prompt cocktail delivery. Our server was exceptional, but his kitchen staff was sorely slow and all tables had an extra long drawn-out dining experience. Hub chose the land and I chose the sea 5 course meals.

Almost all of the dishes we had were exceptional in terms of flavor and presentation. I did not care for the king salmon course and my husband was not impressed with the Caesar salad. I could’ve eaten one million of the scallop dishes.

I understand that a 5 course chef meal should take awhile and be a leisurely experience, but there was zero pace or rhythm to the courses coming out. Our 6:45 reservations had us leaving the restaurant at 9:30 and we even got our desserts to go.

Charging the price they do for the supper, it should be a more polished delivery. We did not complain about the experience, but the manager (owner?) took a few drinks off our bill due to it taking so long to have the meal. The other tables also got comp’d.

We came here for the New Year’s Eve chef tasting menu. I’ll start by saying that the service and the staff were good! The ambiance was also nice. However, the food was a little disappointing as we were expecting more from a fine dining restaurant. There was nothing spectacular as of note or very creative. The main courses, the steak and the venison, were cooked and seasoned well and our favorite course of the night, others were average when compared to other restaurants I tried on the same level. Presentation and flavor sophistication need some attention.
