As someone who’s a huge sub snob, Papi’s has hit the mark.
I love me a food truck, as most of my meals come from them but I’ve never been so impressed by how I’m served at a food truck. Papi’s serves you your sandwich, chips and drink on a wooden tray. Sure, it’s a small part of it but it really enhanced the experience.
I got the Original Italian and really loved how much lettuce they put on my sandwich, it gave a cold crunch. The bread was a wonderful texture and overall, I was incredibly impressed.
Additionally, everyone was so nice on the truck. Can’t wait to come back to see them.

I really want to like Papi’s. There are *a lot* of very enthusiastic reviews here, so chances are I just got unlucky; that said, my experience did not live up to the hype. I ordered the Italian at 2:30pm on a Thursday—Manny was super friendly and threw in a side of relish for me to try. I’m really glad he did because it was tasty and saved an otherwise depressingly dry sandwich. I, too, am from the Midwest and appreciate a good hoagie. My sandwich was not a good hoagie. If you’re going to make a sandwich 50% bread (see pics, mine was), it cannot leave your mouth dry after every bite (mine did). It kills me, because I really want to like this place. Food trucks are a brutal game.

I live right by this truck and it’s been my go to for delicious sandwiches that remain fair priced and consistently good. I’ve tried almost every sandwich on the menu but my favorite is the Italian. Try it with spicy relish!! The guys who work there are always incredibly nice and give a treat to my dog whenever I come by. I’ve never seen them skimp on meat (see photo) or veggies and the sandwiches are always filling and delicious with very fresh ingredients! The best deal in town as the sandwiches are only $10 each and can be made into wraps upon request. Definitely stop by and give them a try!

Italian sandwich was pretty good, but the bread was horrible: it was a cold hoagie roll that was straight from the grocery store. If you want to be an Italian sandwich joint, the bread is the most important part. I really hope these guys work with a local bakery to change out the bread, because until they do, I won’t be going back.

What a delicious vegan sandwich!!! We got the tofu sandwich. It’s loaded with tofu, lettuce, avocado and my favourite part, the pickled onions. It came with a vinaigrette which pairs really well with the sandwich.
The bread was perfect for a sandwich like this. It’s not too soft so it doesn’t get soggy but it’s not too chewy or hard that it cuts up your mouth.
I’ll definitely be ordering again!

The best sandwiches. Each time is a treat. Consistency off the charts. Made fast and made good. My gf loved the sustainable vegetarian option and I typically get the Italian! Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Would of taken a picture of the whole sandwich but once I took the first bite the other half disappeared. So figured I’d hurry up and do the review before the other half disappears. Wonderful experience. The owner was badass and the food is amazing.

Hands down the greatest italian sub in Texas. Fresh deli meats paired with home made vinaigrette made for a perfect meal on a summer Austin day. Will 100% return.

This place is awesome! The sandwich was huge and reasonably priced. I ordered the Italian dressed and it was fantastic. Literally the best sandwich I’ve had all year. They’re right across the street from Outer Heaven Disco Club so I’ll definitely be coming back. Love Papis
