The food was really good I had the nachos with fajitas. It was delicious. The rest of the party had tacos of arrachera. Those were good as well. Other had some tostadas and a cóctel they said it was delicious. The atmosphere was ok no music but they did have tv showing different things on.

We have gone to 3 of this places and they have all been great. This one I’d have to say it gets the top of the top. The service was much better at this place. The waitress was really friendly, they had sauces at the table that the other locations didn’t have. For example they had 2 orange sauces, 1 green and a black sauce they all are great. Also service here was great because we asked for more tostadas and this one they said nother and brought it out. The other place would think about it first and then maybe bring us some. What we ordered was tostada de atun it’s a must that’s a 5 out of 5 dish you have to try it. The other plate was also a 5 out of 5 that was the molcajete azteca, its the one with sausage, steak, chicken, cheese, and nopales. Let me tell you order that and you will not be disappointed at all it all came out to 60 bucks and plus tip we did only get 1 agua fresca. Well worth it. Only bad thing is that its limited parking, the parking space is small.

This place was absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were quickly greeted and seated. The food here was incredible. It is a little on the expensive side but well worth every penny. Very family friendly and oh yeah, great Micheladas!

If you’re looking for a good Mexican seafood spot, this is it! They have great drinks, amazing sea food, and the atmosphere is nice. Music makes you dance in your seat. Our server was great and helped me select food when I was indecisive. The prepared oysters were chefs kiss.

This is definitely different in the best way! Staff was nice and very attentive, food fresh and hot, tons of drinks to chose from. Inside seating is a bit small, but I like that, gives more of a family style restaurant. But they have ton of seats on their outside patio that looks like it lights up and is the place to be at night. I have been to the Arlington location before and will not go back to that due to my last experience there, but this one in Grand Prairie has a completely different feel and the food was worth every cent.

I have had my eye on this place for awhile and wanted to give it a try. We showed up early for lunch and were seated immediately. We got our drinks and chips pretty quickly. The chips were in the shape of small taco shells, which was very convenient.

Our server, Luis G. Did an outstanding job. He was very attentive and helpful.

My partner order one ceviche tostada and I ordered a plate of the tropical ceviche. We were brought packaged crackers but I preferred using the chips. There were about 8 different hot sauce options on the table.

The ceviche was very fresh and tasty. It was a nice, light lunch. I would definitely recommend this place to Mexican seafood lovers!

We’ve had El Viejon on our “to visit” list since they opened. Went this past week on a rainy, midweek evening. Dining room has three large TVs showing sports. Boisterous music plays overhead. Dining was mostly open, but could be doubled with the optional-enclosure patio space outside.
Upon being seated, we were provided with in house tortilla chips served with, not salsa, but spicy coleslaw, and a plate of sliced limes.
Perfect for a seafood restaurant!
We started with the BOTANA MIXTA seafood platter appetizer. An amazing fry up of catfish, fries, sweet hush puppies with corn, calamari, and shrimp.
Son ordered SOPA de MARISCOS. A tomato, seafood based soup loaded with: whole shrimp, crab legs, octopus, scallops, mussels, and calamari. Served with a sidenof rice and buttered toast.
Husband got the MOLCAJETE AZTECA. Served with a side of rice and beans, and choice of flour or corn tortillas. Packed with bacon wrapped, cheese filled, Anaheim pepper; chicken, cheese, sausage, napoleon, and skirt steak.
I personally ordered the CAMARONES a la PLANCHA:
A filling platter with rice, French fries, (different from the batter-fried style on the appetizer platter, these were steak fries), buttered toast, 10 butterflied and grilled shrimp (needing shelling), and a simple salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado, and red onion (which I picked out and gave to Hubby for his tacos, lol) .
We had to get “to-go” boxes because there was so much food and no room for dessert. The food was delicious. The staff friendly. We will be back!!

Tried the food from here twice, first time asked for corn tortillas, they gave me flour tortillas, today I asked for the salsa on the side, it was no salsa for mi molcajete dish at all!!! The Huachinango was dried and overcooked, shrimp cocktail from the first time was good, Molcajete azteca taste good but the salsa it’s super spicy, this is why I asked for the salsa on the side… without the salsa isn’t the same. I will make sure to check my food before I leave the restaurant next time!
