This place is the best Dominican/Portuguese bbq eatery! The pork ribs with the white rice and red beans were so delicious! Katherine is such a sweet woman and welcomed me with a great smile. She is also beautiful. I highly recommend this place for lunch and/or dinner. The food is superb! 10 out of 10!

The dining area is very small but the food was tasty and overall a very good meal. We went for lunch on a Saturday and we got a fish sandwich and a crispy chicken sandwich. Both came with a decent amount of freshly cooked fries. The bread was nicely toasted and the sandwiches were decent sized. The chicken was breaded nicely. It was very moist and not greasy. The fish was not breaded and had excellent flavor. Got it with cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. The green sauce on the side was delicious.
We were actually full after half of our sandwiches and half the fries so we got to take home half of each sandwich and pretty much a full side order of fries. It taveled well and our son enjoyed our leftovers. The base sandwiches were only 8.25 each with fries. They do upcharge you for lettuce, cheese, tomatoes or any other toppings but it’s only 50 cents per topping. I’m not sure how anyone can complain about $10 to $11 for a huge sandwich with fries in today’s market. Whoever is reviewing this place and saying they are pricey hasn’t been dining out in the last 20 years. We thought it was a great value and very fresh and flavorful.
We were originally going to eat at La Hacienda but they are closed on Saturday and this was right around the corner as we were walking back to our car. They have on site parking which is a plus in Perth Amboy. There’s nothing fancy about the inside, it’s only a few tables but the place was very clean and the staff was very courteous.
Definitely recommend and will need to return to try their other menu items.

The food was ok but not as good as I expected, the beans smelled and tasted like it was going bad, the rice didn’t taste fresh, it tasted store bought. They are little overpriced, I did like that they give you a lot of rice and Testones that is a plus.

Though it is a small place I can see why they get so much traffic. The food is good and the prices serve just as good. If you’re eating here call family and friends as their portions are generous. Overall a good place to grab lunch or dinner. They have a variety of options also so if you’re sitting in you’ll likely take something to go. I know I did. lol

Not only is the food incredible, but the portions are HUGE! We ordered the Rivas special BBQ platter, and it came loaded with pollo, pork, beef, yuca frita, and maduros. Everything was seasoned perfectly and had that authentic smoky touch. You get amazing food, great service, and a real taste of Dominican BBQ!
