I visited Minnie’s tonight, a small lounge and bar with a relaxed, laid-back vibe. The DJ was decent and kept music playing throughout the night—nothing that really packed the dance floor, but enough to set the mood. The space is cozy without feeling cramped, and when it gets busy you can still see everyone, which gives it a friendly neighborhood feel.

They have an on-site kitchen, which was a big plus. We ordered a soul-food turkey leg with mashed potatoes, candied yams, and collard greens, along with fried turkey chops smothered in gravy. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant, but they were still good and complemented the meal well.

The crowd was very mixed, ranging from younger adults to seniors, which gave the place a welcoming, community feel. There was security at the front door, although it seemed they only checked the men. In my opinion the women are deadly then the men.

Overall, Minnie’s is a solid spot if you’re looking for somewhere chill to eat, drink, and unwind. It could easily be a party destination, def a nice place to relax, enjoy good food, and soak in a laid-back lounge atmosphere.

I love Minnies. HQ was the best bartender. He made a delicious espresso martini. Vibes were amazing. I had crab cakes and fried green tomatos which were cooked to perfection. We will be back. Oh n the music in the background was on point.

Minnie’s Detroit is really pretty inside but small. I don’t think they take reservations. The Expresso Martin was a 10/10 (highly recommend). Our waitress was super nice and helpful. I love the vibe. None of our food was good and I had to send my candid yams back because they were hard. The cheese on the Mac and cheese was not melted and cold on the inside. The Lollipop Lamb Chops had no flavor/season. It just tasted like char broiled. The shrimp hibachi dish was horrible and it was extra to add eggs). Although our food was not good at all. I would go back to try the brunch and get drinks.

They also have a private room you could probably book.

They are located in mid town. 5221 Trumbull Street, Detroit, Michigan 48208.

Black owned business. They are closed on Monday. They are open Tues-Thur 5pm-12am. Fri 5pm-2am. Sat 11am-2am. Sun 11am-12am.

I had an amazing experience thanks to our keisha. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Every drink was perfectly crafted not just made, but thoughtfully prepared with great balance and flavor.

What really stood out was her personality. She made everyone feel welcome, remembered preferences, and kept the vibe fun and relaxed even when the bar got busy. You can tell she truly care about their craft and their customers.

If you’re looking for someone who elevates the entire experience not just the drinks keisha is it. I’ll absolutely be back and will recommend them to anyone looking for great service and even better cocktails.
