I came here originally for Matcha while visiting the area. My friend and I ended up getting two Matcha, The Italian Stallion, and The Pit and The Pesto. The Matcha was good I’d give it a 4/5. Not too sweet and a decent size for the price. The food was amazing! In my opinion the pesto was the better of the two. Flavorful and filling. All paninis come with side salads they’re just ok definitely tasty.

This is the worst restaurant in Richmond. The food is horrible. The ingredients are low quality, and the cooks have no idea what they are doing, so when the sandwiches or wraps come out, they taste stale and old. When it comes to the smoothies, coffee or and acai bowls, they are even worse. Their “real” fruit is also of the lowest quality and tasteless, so they need to add agave to everything just to make it palletable. Acai can be a healthy thing to eat but with how much sugar is added, it’s basically ice cream. And the coffee is burnt, old crap that nobody likes. This place is why other countries talk smack about American food.
The bathrooms are dirty, and I saw someone send back an acai bowl that they said was sour, which means the acai machines aren’t being cleaned as they should be. I wouldn’t trust that anything is actually clean in this place.
Pit and Peel needs an owner who actually cares about the place and the employees enough to give them proper direction.
DEFINITELY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

This place may close at 9 but they stop making sandwiches and wraps at some mysterious time before that… Do they update their delivery menus or go offline? No. Do they cancel your order or let you know they can’t (or just don’t want to) complete your full order like app decent businesses that work with delivery apps? No! Why treat customers with that basic decency and respect.
They will just send your drink, no sandwich. No dinner for you. They seem to assume customers can always get a refund for missing items from the delivery service but this isn’t the case and it’s a disgusting practice to simply not fulfill orders and expect the 3rd party to make up for it. This has happened twice now in the 8pm hour. Both times I talked to my driver who assured me they were only given a drink and no sandwich.
To add further insult, they always include the receipt showing you ordered a sandwich that they didn’t make or cancel properly.
Whats more is they don’t answer the phone or respond to the inquiry form on their website. And the email address on their website? It doesn’t exist. Bounces back as undeliverable.
DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL GIVE YOU PART OF YOUR ORDER AND EXPECT THE 3RD PARTY TO HANDLE THEIR LAZY, SHITTY APPROACH TO CUSTOMERS.
Shame on this place for stealing money from people like this.

I got the buffalo chicken wrap and a peanut butter cup smoothie delivered from an app. It arrived totally sealed. The smoothie is delicious. Some of the ingredients were solid on the sides or bottom, but I didn’t mind. Problem lies with the buffalo wrap. I open the sealed bag, take my to go box out, open it, and they GOT me. They threw every microscopic crumb they had all over my box and decided that was my side of chips. I had 4 chips that were larger than a quarter, none of them were whole chips. I then moved my wrap and saw a hair in the corner of my tray where my wrap was touching. Then I pick up the wrap, because I’ll excuse a hair sometimes, and see what *looks like* mouse poop laying under it. It could of course be a burned something? But nothing else in the wrap looks like that. Really wish I didn’t spend $25 (not including tax&tips on app) on this. It was a triple whammy with the chips, hair, and suspicious black thing.

I asked for no croutons and the guy took my salad back and picked them out by hand. Only had cheese lettuce and tomato in my P and P salad. The Caesar we ordered had Italian dressing. Service was slow and the name is rooftop and the rooftop wasn’t open. The cashier let us know it was the cooks first day and they were the only two there on a busy Saturday. Staff better and maybe train your cooks so they know their menu. Way too expensive for what we received.

Cappuccino is NOT offered with whole milk. The breakfast burrito was terrible- over cooked and dry – probably because they make them ahead of time – so don’t expect it to be “fresh”. Even the lettuce wrap “cracked” when I bit into it.
If I could have given zero stars I would.

Out of town visitor, was looking for avocado toast. Ran into this place amazing experience. The layer of pesto at the bottom gives it a different taste still tasting phenomenal. They also have sugar free coffees. Definitely recommend coming to this place.

Not sure if it’s just the midday time that I came in, but the two staffs seemed very busy with online orders and took a while to acknowledge me by taking my order. Off the bat, I felt an unwelcome vibe. I got RVA Sunrise and it was disappointing. I mean, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a smoothie I’d ever go back for, it was very plain tasting and had a huge unblended frozen strawberry at the bottom. The place itself is cute, but the rooftop would be made so much better if there were more shady places to sit.

Atmosphere/vibe 5 stars, food 4 stars
Great great spot. Awesome interior/atmosphere, killer rooftop. Thought the food was pretty good. Stretch calling a tortilla a pizza.
