Food was really good! Uncomplicated, not fussy just good quality and wow—came out fast and hot! Very tasty, good portions (not huge but not skimpy). Priced fairly. Location was easy to find and reach. It was clean inside and plenty of seating. Our server Samantha was pleasant, attentive and checked on as appropriately but didn’t hover. Bathrooms are clean. It was about half full I got there and service was good. The waitress was very polite and checked on us see if we needed anything after she served us several times. The meal was large enough to need a take-home box. Had the chicken fried steak two eggs English muffin and grits. My wife had the pancakes she enjoyed them and said they were delicious. It’s close to the world equestrian center in Ocala Florida about 3 mi away. plenty of parking with handicap parking. There’s a ramp from the parking lot to the front door but you will need assist to open the door. Plan on going back again during our study it’s a breakfast and lunch diner. Pleasant and clean atmosphere. Very welcoming nothing fancy just playing good food. Highly recommended but bring cash.

Our family of six enjoyed a wonderful breakfast here! Everything came out exactly as ordered, fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. If I could just write a review and not give any stars, that would be perfect for this “diner”. I’ve had better frozen TV dinners than any of the food here. If you like your grits plain and bland, this is the place for you! And if you like frozen, pre-breaded chicken fried steak and any-brand canned white gravy, you’re in luck! I suppose the forced one-star I have to give could be because the milk was kinda cold.
The menu is basic and boring. They have hamburger steak but it comes with eggs. As mentioned above, they have chicken fried steak but it comes with eggs. And if you have someone who doesn’t eat eggs, guess what? You got it. There are no substitutions.
The waitress wasn’t really paying attention to us, a party of two, and forgot to bring a drink refill for a little while. But when she gave us the check she said she didn’t charge us for the second milk. Yay.
I’m guessing this location might not last very long as it’s located between two, very legit restaurants with WAY more taste in their grits than Darrell’s. And I don’t think they serve grits.
But I guess there’s always something for everyone so it could happen.

I ate at this restaurant this morning, Jan. 13, 2026 and the food was terrible. I ordered crispy bacon, it came out so burnt I had to send it back. The home fries were burnt, my toast was so cold it was like it came from fridge, the eggs were good. I have eaten here a couple times, but never again. However, I do like the restaurant on 25th Ave. I have never gotten a bad meal there.

Went there after a storm. Place was unexpectedly packed. Waitress, Virginia, hustled, and we’re very efficient. Virginia, our server was tops. Rich, G.M. came in on his day off to help out. Food was very tasty. Potato portion was a bit slim but good, my omlet was very good. Grits were bland: but that’s the way owner says to do it & let folks add their own salt & butter; but, that don’t hack it for grits. Other than that, we were very well pleased & will go back.
