I am new to AZ and why is it hard to find good salmon bowls??!! This place was gross . I dang near threw up. The sweet and sour sauce taste like ketchup with a dash of sweet and sour sauce! like Panda Express would have been 10,000% better! The eggroll was cooked to fast. I called in my order and asked how many for almost $4? He says 1 but is pretty good Suze! He LIED! . It was normal size and doughy as heck! Then for $18 I got a half piece of salmon, if that, half piece of baby corn , yo it’s already a baby corn!! Then 8 shreds, yes shreds of carrots, a few slithers of cabbage and 3 pieces of broccoli! I received basically a big bowl of rice & I want my money back!! He says she said she put the broccoli on the bottom! Another lie! I specifically asked is it all vegetables, because that’s a regular bowl, not advertise something as salmon & vegetables bowl and get NOT THAT! Then want to charge you for vegetables that are supposed to come with it, drowned the bowl in something that is not teriyaki sauce! A waste of $23.80! Only the pop from the machine was decent and scared to drunk it because they might not clean the machine. After asking where the vegetables were that is when they added 3 pieces of broccoli. I dang near want to dispute this charge! Be aware they give you 1 total and then pay and it is another .80 cents to use your debit or credit card! I will NEVER RETURN! I’m Mot paying you to use my money, plus get some type of food that is not up to par! Atleast you get 3 spring rolls for under $3.89 from Panda and I don’t even eat that!
Where is a good Thai food joint??? A real place??!

I added that spice on top which has no flavor!
Not impressed!

I’ve been eating Kyoto Bowl since I was a kid, which is why this experience felt less like a mistake and more like a complete failure of basic service.

I clearly and directly asked if the okayu bowl included teriyaki chicken and was given a confident yes. That answer was wrong. I ordered a more expensive dish specifically because of that claim, explained that choice to my mom, and paid extra for something I never wanted. This wasn’t just any meal either, it was meant to be a small but meaningful post-surgery treat after a medical procedure. That makes being misled about what I was ordering even more frustrating. Whether this was a lie or incompetence is irrelevant. Misrepresenting what’s in your food is unacceptable either way.

Then came the attitude. After placing my order, I stood near the register for a moment in an empty restaurant. No line. No congestion. No problem. Yet I was repeatedly and sharply told to sit down, as if my presence was an issue. The tone was controlling, dismissive, and wildly inappropriate for someone whose job is customer service. Paying customers are not obstacles, and the counter is not a personal office for phone calls.

Between being upsold into the wrong dish, spoken to like a nuisance, and dealt with in a way that showed zero awareness or accountability, the entire interaction felt sloppy and hostile. It finally made sense why this franchise has lost so much traffic and shut down locations. This is exactly how you drive loyal customers away.

I wanted to enjoy this meal. I wanted that teriyaki bowl. Instead, I left annoyed, disappointed, and done. I won’t be coming back anytime soon, no matter how badly I want a teriyaki bowl.

One of my favorite places, Mama-san super sweet lady. Food is always amazing. Every time I work on that side of town this place is my go to place… give them a try you won’t be disappointed.

Super slow service. Went to eat dine-in. and took almost an hour for our food to come out. You pay when you order like a fast food set-up. but it is far from being fast food.

Worst chicken bowl I have ever eaten! Sweet and sour sauce tastes and looks like garbage! Appears maybe the teriyaki sauce is watered down. Gross! Don’t eat here!

I always like Kyoto bowl. They have good noodles and rice and I generally get seafood so I like the way they cook their salmon. Service is decent and this one year some cute little decor.

Not enough Japanese fast-food places in town. Kyoto Bowl was clean inside and the staff was friendly. I ordered the teriyaki chicken. It was served over white rice with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Very yummy-I ate half of it before I even remembered to take a picture.

Ate there today and food was terrible. Ate at the restaurant and shortly free eti g there stomach got very upset. According to urgent care I have a slight case of food losing from the food. Stay away the teriyaki chicken had an off taste. This use to be the place to eat at back in the day. No wonder there is only 2 Kyoto bowls left in the valley. The chicken was soupy if that makes sense

I have been eating at the Mill Ave location for 9+ years now. I very much appreciate the consistency this place has. Christina at the register is always so kind and pleasant to me. I will support this location as long as they are in business. Clean facilities too.
