We really enjoyed our visit to The Garden of Eating Bistro in Cleburne, Texas. The food was absolutely great! Talk about fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The service was wonderful and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is neat and unique, with a charm that makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to and recommending to others!

Wonderful sandwiches! What I have pictured is The Fickle Pickle is out of this world, if it were up to me it would be permanent instead of rotating!
The Fanciful Piggy is also top tier on my list, the cream cheese, jalapeños, and jam are the star of the show ‍

What a great find! Relaxing atmosphere, delicious food and they offer good vegan/vegetarian options.
We hope to get back tomorrow to try other dishes! Easy street parking.

Very cute boutique and diner, friendly staff, right off the Cleburne square.
They were offering specials when we went, we each got one soup from that menu- meatball, and creamy tomato basil. They were the stars of the show for sure.
We ordered a catcher on the rye, they were out of rye bread so I asked for regular sourdough, it came on a roll instead of sandwich bread.
Also got the 4 cheese grilled cheese, and the TOM with loaded potato salad but they brought German potato salad.
The mix ups are not an issue, out waiter was new and the sourdough roll was still very good. Neither of us liked thr potato salad, but that’s personal preference.
Now, what makes this rating so low- service time and food quality. It took an hour for 3 sandwiches. The diner was not full, several other people that came in after were getting their food first. Which I could understand for some things, but again…sandwiches.
When we got them, the grilled cheese was cold, no cheese pull moment there. The reason i got the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup was so that I could eat them together, but they brought out the soup almost immediately and then the sandwich an hour later.
The catcher on the Rye had almost no sauerkraut whatsoever (see picture). It just was not worth the wait, we won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend unless you just like the atmosphere and want to have a chat and maybe good soup.

One of my favorite places to catch lunch. The menu is unique. It is not your average sandwich/salad shop, barbecue , chicken fried steak joint. I like those kinds of places but you can find them everywhere. This place has blazed it own trail and come up with something special.
The menu abounds with healthy alternatives. While you are there take a look at the eclectic collection of gift items for sale. It is a good place to browse and look for a special gift for someone special.
The atmosphere reflects the personality of the owner/founder. Upbeat, energetic with bit of good natured humor on the side. You won’t find another place like it anywhere in Johnson County or Fort Worth for that matter.
It is the unique character of the place that makes it interesting and sets it apart. If yiu live in Cleburne stop by. If you are traveling schedule a break from the road and a relaxing lunch. You will be happy you did.

Unique gem in the heart of downtown Cleburne. We were lucky enough to stop by on a Saturday during a shop the block event. The restaurant is bistro style with unique finds to purchase throughout the store. Food was fabulous, the potato soup is probably the best l’ve ever tried. The place was packed but the servers handled it well and didn’t skip a beat. Super cool intimate window seating options, I wish I took a picture of it, but great for people watching. Will be back if we’re ever in the area.

Wonderful atmosphere with laid back service. Don’t need to be in a hurry because it’s a fun place to sit back and enjoy others company. Food is outstanding. The flavored teas are awesome & the German potato salad is my favorite! Everything is fresh & the soups are delicious! Can’t say enough.
There are all types of boutique type items for sale throughout the place too. Highly recommended taking the time to enjoy a good lunch!

This is a precious, quaint country place that anyone would feel welcomed. The food is tasty and staff friendly. There’s a small shopping area for precious children and grandkids. The decor is unique and has a down-home flare. For dessert, we had the lemon cake and italian cream. Loved the lemon cake! The Italian cream had coconut on it. Keep that in mind. We aren’t coconut fans

Fantastic food and great staff. I wish the sandwich had a bit more meat for $13.00, but still yummy. Really yummy German potato salad too! Go eat

I have nothing but good things to say about this small town gem! I started with a cup of the lasagna soup – I mean, come on, have you ever heard of that? It was amazing and a really creative spin on a soup. I then had the Italian sub, which boasted a few notable elements: the grilled sourdough it was on had the perfect crisp to soft ratio, the lemon vinaigrette to dip in was a zesty treat, and the side I chose, the broccoli and cauliflower salad was the perfect accompaniment. At a place like this, you have to get dessert, so I tried the Italian cream cake and wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. The staff and my waitress were incredibly friendly and attentive too. The prices were modest.

I didn’t get a chance to try a drink, but they serve alcohol as well. This place is an absolute treasure and I’m so glad I stopped in.
