My son celebrated his birthday and said that he wanted a good burger for his birthday dinner. I started reading reviews and looking at IG post and found Smashed RVA so, after his birthday outing we went to eat. We were not disappointed. Everything was hot, fresh and made to order. We ordered Plain Jane Smash, OG Smash, BBQ Bacon Smash, fries and bottled drinks. It was all too much and we ended up taking food him. The box of fries can really feed 2-3 people. Hell, the burger could feed two people also.

Wow! Glad we found this. Great smash, you can have single, double or triple. I did a double and was full!!
The menu has a good selection of very different burgers.
All the beer is local and canned. To go also.
Staff was friendly and welcoming. Will try hard to go again!!

We found this place when trying to find something new in Richmond on a trip. Man, am I glad we did! The service was excellent. The cashier recommended the Mac Smash and explained that each patty was 1/4lb. He also recommends the fries (they come with a Cajun seasoning on them). After we ordered we were able to easily find a seat in the restaurant.
When the food came, WOW! The burger was smashed to perfection and somehow it was thin and crispy, yet juicy. The fries were seasoned to perfection with a subtle kick but not too spicy. We all ate every last piece of food that we ordered. We were stuffed.
Absolutely check this place out. Delicious food, amazing service and plenty of seating.

We *required* burgers for dinner last night, so we decided to go to one of the last few RVA burger spots we had yet to try. Jazz, (forgive me if I got your name wrong, but that’s what I heard!) who helped us, was outstanding… helpful, patient, kind and knowledgeable… He explained everything to be sure we all got what we wanted.
The burgers we had were all very effectively seasoned and generously portioned. Beef was perfect and not dried out and hard as can sometimes happen with smash burgers. Best smash I’ve had in a long time.
Their Smash sauce is very mustard forward, which is not our style, so we tried the Mac sauce which is more thousand-island-y and was perfection.
Fries were hot and crispy and we really enjoyed their cajun/malt vinegar seasoning blend.
Also…don’t sleep on their house-made bottled concoctions. Their version of an Arnold Palmer was unique and delicious…I’ve never had an Arnold Palmer that starts very tea-forward and is followed by a delightful lemon SLAP at the end. So good!

Having had burgers from Cobra, Station 2, Beauvine, Eazzy, Bach, etc, Smashed RVA has a combination of all the right ingredients–both culinary and aesthetic–to fortify themselves as a staple in Richmond. The atmosphere is relaxed with a minimalist approach to decorations and downtempo tracks like MF Doom in the background. They have a large parking lot too; most of it is on a slope so fair warning for handicap.
The gentleman behind the counter provided a travel guide level understanding of the menu to assist a first timer. Their patties are 4 oz of Seven Hills beef, they have two main, in-house sauces that are both fire, and the fries come standard with a cajun/malt vinegar coating, but they openly provide a salt only option(which I chose).
I ordered their double patty OG Smash option(you can get 1, 2, or 3 patties)and I think it was the first burger I’ve ever had to rip the meat from the sides and dip it in the sauces before I actually picked it up to eat it, so hats off for a unique experience! The fries are really good with the sauces as well. My only critic would be to reduce the amount of grease on the outside of the bun, and try to keep it all between them(I padded mine down with a napkin).
I look forward to the next opportunity I have to enjoy this place because it was a truly awesome experience all around!

Found this place when searching for vegetarian options near me. Their vegetarian burger and fries are so delicious. They have an option to get a single or double patty. I chose double. They also have spicy limeade that they make in house and it’s really refreshing! Chill environment and good service.

I was in town for some service work and wanted a good burger and this place was excellent. From the service when I first entered the door to bring you your food and check on you to make sure your food is perfect. I would highly recommend if you’re in town looking for a good Smashburger. They also have really good local beer as well available.

The place had a lot of hype and it lived up to it.
The plain Jane Burger with two patties was perfection. And the fries were really good too.
Very friendly and fast service.
Beautiful day to sit on the patio and see the city in the distance.
Will definitely be going back.

My husband and I went by here about a week ago. I used to get chop cheeses all the time in New York city. This chop cheese was exactly how I expected it to be. Meaty, cheesy, and with all the toppings. It was so good. Fries were great too. The service was just as good as the food. The cashier was so on knowledgeable and helped with our selections. All in all, this place is my new favorite spot for a chopped cheese.

The best smash burger I’ve ever eaten! Wow! I had the OG Smash and my wife had the Smash Chopped Cheese. My kids ordered the Mac Smash and Plain Jane Smash. We shared some Smash fries and washed it all down with Smash RVA Baja Limeade and complimentary water. The gentleman who took our order was friendly, informative and helpful during our first visit. Additionally, we were glad that the bathrooms were clean and fully stocked with toiletries. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be sure to return with the rest of our family!
