The food was flavored perfectly! The smell of the spices smelled so good that makes you want to try everything on the menu!
We ordered Goat Biryani (the portion is large enough to share for 2 people) the goat meat was marinated so well and it was falling off the bone, Chicken Tikka Masala and Thattu Idli (steamed Rice & Lentil cake) with chutneys on the side. Garlic Naan & Parotta (flaky layered flatbread). Mango Lassi and Royal Falooda for dessert – so delicious & not too sweet. Masala Chai.
Customer service is excellent- very kind & friendly people!
The restaurant environment is casual, clean and comfortable.
Overall each type of food was seasoned perfectly, good portions and each type of bread were made well – everything was above our expectations!
THANK YOU!
Only the best to all of you
We ordered a lamb tikka masala and a butter chicken with a couple of mango lassies for drinks. I can honestly say that I don’t think I’ve had a better tasting lamb tikka masala, in any of the multiple restaurants. I visited over the last 20 years. The sauce was thick and creamy and full of flavor and the lamb was cooked to perfection. It wasn’t greasy. The butter chicken was slightly spicier and just as delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection, almost melt in your mouth.
I will admit that I am a complete wimp when it comes to hot spices and the kitchen was very willing to accommodate my lack of tolerance.
The dinner came out to just under $40 and I left a nice tip as a thank you for their excellent food.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice Indian dish. Don’t expect lots of fancy decorations or plush booths. They focus on the food, not the decor.
We were on vacation in Portland and decided to try this place based purely on Google reviews — and oh boy, it more than lived up to the hype!
What We Tried:
Idly, Mysore Masala Dosa, Pepper Chicken, Mango Lassi
The Verdict:
✅ Idly – Perfectly fluffy with just the right tang. Paired beautifully with the chutney and sambar (which, by the way, has that signature Tamilian flavor that really hits different!)
✅ Mysore Masala Dosa – Crisp, flavorful, and the potato stuffing deserves a special mention — spiced just right.
Pepper Chicken – Spicy, bold, and absolutely delicious for those who like a kick.
Mango Lassi – The jewel in the crown! Smooth, sweet, and heavenly. Don’t leave without trying it.
It’s a no-nonsense restaurant, so don’t expect fancy ambience — but the food speaks for itself. Service can take a bit during peak hours, but honestly, when the food is this good, it’s more than worth the wait.
Final Word:
This is definitely going to be our go-to whenever we’re in Portland again. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors with a punch of spice and soul! ️
Secondly, the food is utterly DELICIOUS! Like, everything on the buffet is incredibly flavorful. The sambar was my favorite, but it’s difficult to pick a favorite dish. I find it refreshing to find fantastic south Indian cuisine in the greater Portland area AND on a buffet for an opportunity to try lots of different dishes! I was in heaven. I’m salivating thinking about all the flavors!
Also, the staff couldn’t have been more kind and hospitable. So welcoming! The interior of the restaurant is adequate and clean, but not the most picturesque. (But let’s be fair: we didn’t come here to post on Instagram; we came for the food!)
One hot tip: DO NOT miss the mango lassi! Absolutely divine.
Needless to say, we’ll be returning for both the lunch buffet AND dinner. Can’t wait! Last tip: Run, don’t walk for lunch here!
