Jumbo slices are rarely consumed sober and tonight was no exception; though we were drunk with jet lag and not alcohol. All the same, the slices were good and the service was friendly.
Open late.

Cozy local pizza joint, with friendly staff who recognize their regular customers (and have good taste in music)! I always get a full pizza fresh-made, and find it a good, classic NY-style pizza — none of that fancy “gourmet” stuff you might find across the street, just the kind of iconic giant slab of cheese, sauce, and dough you envision when you think of ordering in for the night. Even if ordering by the slice, serving size is very generous: I actually once saw a tourist complaining his slice was too large! (Welcome to America, pal.) The prices used to be incredibly good, too — $20 for a whole pie! — but alas, they went up ~$10 during the great inflation and haven’t come down since. Hasn’t stopped me from continuing to come by when I want ‘za, though!

Huge slice. They are definitely generous with their dough and sauce, but skipped out on pepperoni. Crispy, thin slice, but for $7 you can feel you’re paying for the Dupont up charge.
Clean interior. Pizza looked cold sitting behind glass display case. Counter workers were considerate enough to ask how you want your pizza packaged for to go.

Just a classic shitty pizza. No real flavor, bland dough, it’s too chewy, the crust is too boring and tough for there to be so much of it. It’s not a thin crust but it’s still a bit floppy. There’s nothing satisfying happening on the pie, at all.
I wanted a slice but the slices left under the warmer looked so stale and cold that I wasn’t going to bother, so I figured I’d get a whole pie for dinner instead. I really should have just walked out.
This is one of those places where the only person working there is talking on the phone to someone the whole time, doesn’t care if you’re there or not, and it shows in the food.
Wouldn’t waste your money here, even for a slice, which are way too expensive by the way.

This sliver in the wall has the biggest, juiciest pizza slices you can get, reheated for you, and perfectly crisp. Though the pizza could use a little more flavor, the dining area is clean and a fine place to sit if getting away from the streets.

I really enjoyed my experience at DE DUPONT Pizza in Washington, DC. The pizzas were absolutely delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their positive attitude made the whole experience even better. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!

Extraordinary!! and I do not exaggerate what I say. the dough is absolutely perfect, the ingredients fresh and top quality. The spotless place very clean and the staff very attentive and cheerful. It opens until 2am which is very convenient for those of us who arrive late at the hotel.

The dough, sauce and cheese were all very good quality and tasted great. While pepperoni normally has some spice, these slices seemed to be spicier than your average pizza pepperoni. That’s not a bad thing, just a heads up. We enjoyed people watching out the window while we ate. Lastly, their slices and whole pies were one of the best values we encountered while visiting DC.

(updated: Standing in line and watching the counter attendant actively discriminate.) Never saw this behavior again. They have a sign posted at the front ALL are welcome. Best slice in DC for a couple reasons. $5 for basically two slices. But it’s also thin crust, flavorful dough, good cheese. It doesn’t need much else made this way. I’m glad they got their lives.

On quality, this place is in solid three star territory. A good crisp, flaky crust, mild cheese, plentiful toppings, totally bland sauce. All in all, it’s a totally mediocre slice. However–a “slice” is equivalent in size to a quarter of an extra large pizza from most restaurants. And it’s $5. So for $10, you get an enormous quantity of food, which even if only average, is an excellent deal.
Also, the “vermin” mentions about this place are BS and just a smear. Don’t believe them for a second.
