Went here on a whim with a small party. The greeting upon arrival was warm and the seating arrangement is comfortable. We got to sit right under the TV providing the atmospheric ambience. Lovely music and videos. The volume was perfect you could hear it and as we talked it faded gently into our background. The 2 appetizers we ordered were both delicious the garlic naan bread was fresh and made to order. Perfectly complementing the entrees we chose 3 and the staff was both attentive when we needed and simultaneously not just hovering so we could relax. They were also very accommodating when we ordered slightly out of order we originally forgot to ask for naan bread. Then for our dessert they offered us a 3 piece portion of the gulab jamun so we each had a piece, it originally comes with 2 so that small courtesy is greatly appreciated. There was no rushing us out the door after our meal either. So if you’re looking for a nice quiet homemade Indian restaurant to enjoy this is the place to go!

Visited Deshi Curry Wichita on 12th August and had a fantastic experience. I ordered naan, veg pakora, and mango lassi, which were all delicious. Although paneer butter masala wasn’t on the menu, the staff went out of their way to make it for me, and it turned out to be good. The food was flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. The service was prompt and friendly, making the dining experience even better. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Wichita and craving some authentic Indian cuisine!

Tonight was a disaster. They closed for a while, at least a couple weeks. Turns out they have a new owner who did a facelift on the dining room.
Unfortunately, that is not the only thing they changed. I have been obsessed with their butter chicken for months and have been there 2x per month for several months now.
The butter chicken and garlic naan I ordered tonight was horrible, the chicken is weird, the sauce is thick and chunky with a weird flavor, even the garlic naan is different and no good. We got home with the food only to realize they forgot the rice, my husband went back to get it and when he got home it was the seasoned yellow rice, not the plain white basmati rice they had previously included with the butter chicken.
I tried to eat, it is just terrible. An awful chicken texture that disenegrates in your mouth, with the chunky sauce, the weird naan, and the incorrect rice. Anyone have any recommendations for other restaurants that have butter chicken, this was enough to never go back to Deshi, for butter chicken of their chicken biryani that we frequently purchased over the last 10 or so years.

Everything was delicious. The owners were amazing and made sure my stay at their restaurant was comfortable. They went out of their way to turn the volume up on the TV because I was really interested in the news. The Chicken Curry was enjoyable and so was my Appetizer.

Update: still the same taste in 2024! Loved every bit of it, will be back from Manhattan to try Bangladeshi food! Everything is Halal, easy parking, and quick combo menu for convenience. Fantastic service.
I like their food, specially the mutton biriany. I also liked their rice and fish/meat combo. Comparatively cheap.

Just now I ordered the punugulu and mirchi bajji for $11.72(5.19$ and 5.71$). I am totally disappointed with the food quantity of my order. Literally the size of the bujji is very tiny(its a size of my little finger). If you guys are continuing like this, then no student will show interest on these menu items..
