The food was good, but I’m pretty freaking annoyed that I paid $24 for broccoli beef that was 95% broccoli. I know beef is expensive but this was absolutely absurd. This was my first time trying this place, I was really looking forward to some good old fashioned Chinese take-out, and will probably never go back.

We called earlier this week to inquire about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day take out orders and they were so upfront about being already booked out but they still tried to accommodate us. Though they were We just decided to wait until tonight. As usual it was worth the wait and so delicious!
We always opt for the seasonal vegetables, Hong Kong Pan fried noodles and spicy shredded potatoes. Our new favorite might be the tofu in hot bean sauce.
We love HKC and so appreciate that they are family owned and ran, open on holidays, have amazing specials and are consistent.

Although we shared three entrées, the portions themselves felt noticeably smaller than what we’ve received in the past — especially in terms of protein. That difference stood out to us regardless of how many dishes were ordered.
As for the service, while the server did check on us, portion size and value aren’t always something you fully process in the moment. It became more apparent as the meal went on.
Regarding the automatic gratuity, the 20% gratuity was applied to a party of five. In most restaurants, automatic gratuity typically begins at six or more guests, and four adults and a kid is not usually considered a “large party.” Either way, you’ve lost repeat customers — and we won’t be keeping this experience to ourselves. Word travels quickly, especially when customers feel disappointed and unheard. If this is how concerns are handled, it’s hard to see how you’ll continue keeping long-term customers.

I don’t mind vegetables at all, but at the prices being charged, the value just wasn’t there.
To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added for our party of five. This wasn’t posted anywhere or mentioned to us beforehand. Transparency matters, and unexpected charges leave a bad impression.
Because of that, we won’t be returning.

The food here is amazing—definitely the most authentic Chinese cuisine in the area! Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food and the excellent service make it worth it. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Chinese flavors!

We did take out. Ordered lo mein noodles and received plain spaghetti noodles. Absolutely void of anything in them or on them. Plain boiled spaghetti. It’s also very pricey for what you get, unfortunately.

Hong Kong City makes INCREDIBLE Peking Duck! They need at least 48hrs notice and are 100% worth it. It was the perfect thing to celebrate the new year with. Their service was top notch as well! Looking forward to next time.

This place was really disappointing. We ordered our food and they told us it would be ready in 1 hr but took almost 1.5 hrs. Food was very bland and much too expensive. No broccoli in the vegetable fried rice was upsetting and the lemon chicken was overcooked. Then my mom got food poisoning later in the night. She was keeled over in pain. We definitely won’t be coming back.

The food was pretty good. I’d recommend the Kung Pao chicken. The spice level was just right and the flavor was on point. The combo plate with the pork, chow mein and fried rice was okay. The egg and flower soup was too thick for my taste. The portions were generous and we had to take to-go containers. Those 2 main items were $19 each for a total of $45 with tips (there is no tax in Montana?!).
