Excellent food at excellent prices!

Cafe of India makes a great Madras Chicken, Dal Makhani, and Crackling Spinach – all dairy-free. They have a monthly promotion, usually 10-15% of a take-out of dine in order (if you sign up for their list – does not apply to delivery). They have a extensive vegan section, too. Highly recommend!

Stopped by on my way over to Washington DC. Tried the buffet on Saturday, it’s a pretty small buffet, but everything prepared is fresh, even the chutneys.
It’s pretty hard to find fresh food, especially in a buffet setting. Because restaurants are usually trying to pass leftover food for their buffet.
Wood flooring, nice chandelier and friendly service.

This place is amazing. The decor is elegant and inviting. The service is fantastic- I don’t usually eat Indian food, and they were more than happy to give reccomendations.

The food itself is nothing short of fantastic. I got the Paneer Tikka, the Lamb Korma, and a chocolate lava cake with Chai tea. The flavors are incredible, and you can taste the spices used in the dish. The chocolate lava cake is rich and not too sweet. If you are a fan of Indian cuisine come to Cafe India. If you want to try Indian cuisine come to Cafe India.

We really enjoyed this place. We had the chicken vindaloo, butter chicken, mixed platter, and chicken with spinach. All were very good. Service was great. I would definitely recommend this place.

I’ve had Indian food all over the country and internationally, and I would say this was the best Indian food I’ve had in my life. Everything was super fresh, flavorful, dynamic without being overly salty or sweet, just delicious and interesting and well balanced. I can’t recommend it enough. The cherry on top is that it’s also super reasonable. Parking is a little dicey in that area but if you look in the residential neighborhoods, you’ll eventually find something. If you can, Uber to it that’s even better.

Fantastic Indian restaurant in NW DC. It is consistently busy with many to-go orders as well. No wonder – we had the butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, and crispy spinach, and all were terrific. Vindaloo was perfectly spicy; butter chicken was rich and delicious. Can’t wait to come back here. The service is fantastic and friendly as well.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience here. Not only is the food authentic but the staff is friendly and the service was so quick! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, great for intimate gatherings or having a tasty meal with friends. The manager, Mr Raj, especially provided outstanding service. Love this place! Can’t recommend enough. Thank you Cafe India!

So delicious. Hard to find chicken not dry in the curry. The pistachio curry chicken and shrimp coconut masala were my top choices. Biryani was very spicy.

Food was amazing punjabi style had Kadai Paneer ,Lamb Biryani,Butter Naan.Kadai paneer tasty and soft paneer melts in your mouth.
Lamb Biryani was tasty no smell in lamb and tender, usually some restaurants the lamb is smelly.
Interiors say its own by Punjabi Guy.
