Bluffton Barbeque is hands down one of the best small mom-and-pop BBQ spots around. The ribs were absolutely amazing — tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. You could tell they were cooked low and slow the right way. The pulled pork was incredibly moist and seasoned perfectly, not dry at all like you get at some places.
And the sweet potato casserole? The best I’ve ever had. No exaggeration. It was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and tasted homemade in the best way possible.
You can really feel the heart behind this place. Great food, great hospitality, and that authentic local BBQ experience. Definitely coming back.

The owner was so hospitable. The food was great. We had the pork and fork x 3 with Mac n cheese, greens, fries, and sweet potatoe casserole with cornbread. Also the ribs. The fries were fresh cut potatoes that they fried. The flavor was great! Mac n cheese great. All of it amazing. Cornbread not to sweet but sweet enough very perfect. The pulled pork and ribs were very good also!

We stumbled upon a real diamond here. Somehow this spot never came across my radar until yesterday. I’m so glad it did !!! We had the pulled pork and the ribs, both of which were out of sight. For sides we had collard greens, brunswick stew, sweet potato casserole, and corn bread. All of which were delicious. They have a small menu, which I am a big fan of. The owner is as friendly as you could possibly be. Very generous portions, and a great ambiance. As a lifelong resident, and historical tour guide here on The Sea Islands, I’m always asked where to go for BBQ. Now their is no question. I look forward to returning often.

I have never written a food review in my life and I just wanna share how much of a fantastic amazing experience I’ve had at this restaurant. The guy was so polite and funny and kind and even when one of my friends didn’t like barbecue, he went up with free food and said I’m gonna change your life. He absolutely changed our lives in our hearts and he even was so nice and kind and polite and gave us some extra stuff We had the absolute best experience and can’t wait to come back. Delicious amazing food. The stew was absolutely life-changing as well as the Sweet potatoes.

Warm fire, terrific bq, and staff was amazing. I am not a fan of collard greens yet he brought a little out for me to taste. My husband loved them and they were better than Ive had yet appreciated he let us try them. Sweet potato casserole was next level good. Highly recommend and will return..

Incredible food and even better service! Ted is an absolute gem. He welcomed us like old friends and kept us smiling with great conversation throughout our meal. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfection, leaving the bones clean and dry. The Collard Greens and Sweet Potato Casserole are non-negotiables—both were absolutely delicious. The pulled pork was tender and full of flavor, made even better with Ted’s Red signature House BBQ sauce. And the Brunswick Stew? Packed with bold flavor and just the right kick of heat. We happened upon this bbq place while wandering the streets of Bluffton and what a gem!!! The owner served us and told us some great stories about the town. The food was phenomenal, the prices fantastic and the owner was a fun character. We’re coming again next weekend and will definitely be visiting this great restaurant again.

My husband and I are so happy that we randomly stopped in while visiting the area for the first time today with our kids! We ended up sharing the fat basturd plate, which was huge and some of the best bbq I’ve ever had. We also had sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, fries, corn bread, and sweet tea. Everything was fresh and hot, and the service was fantastic. Ted the owner/cook came out to talk to us for a while, gave the kids oranges, and our one-year-old made a new best friend We ended up with a packed full to-go container because we couldn’t finish it all, and we will definitely be back
