I was a bit skeptical at first—this place doesn’t look like much. The decor is minimal and the atmosphere is pretty basic. But wow, was I surprised. The pizza was delicious, with a very good flavor that totally exceeded my expectations. It’s also cheap, which makes it even better. If you’re looking for fancy vibes, this isn’t it. But if you care about good food at a great price, this spot delivers at least at happy hours

Hidden gem!! Came here with my 3 of my buddies after a padres game and we were hungry ! We shared two pizzas. The Buffalo chicken and shrimp with fresh basil on top. The shrimp was yummy, but the Buffalo chicken was one of the best I’ve had !! My two buddies got the Margarita calzone and they loved it ! They said best they ever had !!! Me and my other buddy got the Philly cheesesteak and it was amazing! I recommend adding jalapeños to it ! We each finished off with their tiramisu! Definitely coming back here ! Lots of seating inside, restaurant was clean, and service was amazing !

Yassssss!!!! DELICIOUS! This spot is tucked away at the Santa Fe Depot. It’s small, and mighty. Great customer service. Watched the staff firmly and kindly redirect a transient visitor- appreciated the respectful exchange. Our food was AMAZING! The kids shared a 10″ with extra +extra cheese — such good quality mozzarella! My husband got a classic calzone and it was PACKED with toppings, seasoned just right, and perfectly crispy on the edges. My Philly cheese steak was so so flavorful. The onions, mushrooms and bell peppers were fresh and their flavors were not overpowered by seasoning – they complimented to tender and tasty beef slices so well. We also ordered a 10″ Italian bread to share. It was delicious w the marinara but we didn’t need it. Each of our entrees was plenty filling. Glad we had it to munch on later in the night though.

Highly recommend this spot. So SO GOOD!!

We ordered pizza for takeout and it was undercooked. When we called to let them know, we were told the pizza was “fine” and sent out as-is.

All four of us who ate it got food poisoning. When we contacted management, they said no one else had complained — implying it was our problem.

On top of that, the food was late for pickup and customer service on the phone was dismissive and unhelpful. The manager was rude, yelled on the phone, and took no accountability.

Save your money and eat literally anywhere else.

Giovannis is a no frills quick service restaurant located downtown near the trolley station. They have a decent selection of slices available at lunchtime. The pizza was tasty and I would eat it again but maybe take it to go. There is a lot of transient activity in the area around the restaurant and I didn’t enjoy seeing homeless watching me eat from outside. It’s walking distance from the courthouses if you have jury duty.

This was our first time at this place, and we were absolutely blown away by the flavor. The crust was perfectly balanced – neither too thick nor too thin – and offered a wonderfully satisfying crunch from the first bite all the way through, with a perfect amount of toppings that did not fall off. I’d highly recommend this place and definitely plan to return.

Situated at Santa Fe Depot, this trattoria is a delightful and quaint establishment where you can enjoy your meal while observing the trains come and go. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of options including pizza, pasta, ravioli, calzones, pies, sandwiches, and even chicken wings. During our visit, we decided to try the Fettucine Alfredo, Chicken Alfredo, Manicotti, and some Chicken Wings. Although the preparation time was a bit lengthy, the dishes arrived fresh and piping hot. The Fettucine Alfredo consisted of a plain white sauce without any vegetables, while the Chicken Alfredo was deliciously satisfying. The Manicotti proved to be an intriguing choice and it was equally enjoyable. As for the Garlic and Parmesan Chicken Wings, they were decent but not exceptional. It’s worth noting that there were other sauce options available as well. In hindsight, we realized that we should have also had the calzones or other items from the menu. One important tip to remember is to place all of your orders at once, as we discovered that each time we made an additional request, it resulted in an extra charge on our card.

Came 2 previous visits to this place when traveling on my own, and it was ok, today I wanted my daughter to try their pasta since she has not being in SoCal for ovee 8 months, I had to conviced her to come here rather than our usual spot in old town. Big mistake.
Since we started ordering, the cashier was disgustinly rude to us, wich I passed the first time. I still wanted my daughter to try their pasta. after we placed our order, oh NO, asking the cashier for a box or to go container for our left over food was the worst. I told her. Hey!! If this bothers you so much, I apologize” she again, was the ruddest person, rolling her eyes, I started recording the little spot and. She went bullistic, screaming on calling security because I was recording “her” she has not approve us to record “her”. She forgets she is in a public place. And NO, we witnessed her providing service to other people and in no way was the same as it was with some of the other patrons, the way she was with us. Her racism was radiating over her outfit. She called security and started screaming that shr had cameras to which I replied “good, hooe thry can see how disgusting your treatment to some of the customers is when they check the footage” that got her enraged. My daughter was so dissapointed, since we have a very special place in Old Town we always visit. And I chose this place over her spot.

Ducked in here after a long day of travel. Small neighborhood pizza place. Menu had lots of options but there are a lot of side charges ($.75 for ranch with a piece of pizza $1.00 for a soda refill) that will add up quickly. Service was good; food came out a little overcooked but timely. Plenty of filling in the stromboli.
