Service: the staff were very friendly, polite and knowledgeable! we were seated quite quickly despite what looked like a busy Wednesday evening.
Food: everything was phenomenal. We were a party of three and shared most dishes. The cucumber was fantastic. It was a bit of a citrusy sesame vinaigrette that I would love to make it home. The Yuzu daikon was refreshing, There was a fish with daikon stew that was also great. The bento was a good portion and unique side dishes like carrots, cucumber, seaweed, the salmon and steak were well cooked. If you’ve never had barracuda, check it out on the daily menu! I would explore this menu more the next time!
The dessert was the most memorable. It was a raindrop mochi with black bean and ginger and a very nice black bean syrup.
Will definitely go back to try other dishes!
The overall quality of the food was very good, and everything tasted clean and fresh. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the albacore sushi, but that’s just a personal preference rather than an issue with quality.
Nice atmosphere, family-friendly, and a solid choice for sushi. I’d definitely come back.
The quality of the fish was incredibly fresh. I sat at the sushi bar and the chef helped guide me through some amazing selections, which made the experience even more special.
To top it off, the son of the owners came by to introduce himself, welcomed me as a first time guest, and recommended some of their most popular dishes -the Aburi seared salmon sushi- which blew my mind!! That kind of hospitality really made the whole experience feel personal and memorable.
I only wish there was a spot like this closer to me in Huntington Beach. Until then, I’ll definitely be counting down the days until I can make it back to Pasadena for that delicious, top quality fish again.
Lots of thought put into all the details and side dishes, with subtle, elevated takes on even the simple classics (I really loved how they did the eggplant.)
So good I had to cancel my other reservations and eat here twice in one day.
A Pasadena gem I’ll look forward to visiting again.
