Stopped off, Chili dog was great ordered a hamburger…way too much mustard. Food was ok, place needs a good cleaning, kinda rundown. Root Beer was great!!!

Yes, I arrived at 8:26 PM and they close at 9 PM, but there was still time to order and eat before 9PM….right?
Anyway, went and splurged and even decided to order and eat inside, telling them I would be done by 9 PM.
Ordered a $12.99 shrimp dinner, added some clam strips, and chose french fries and Cole flaw as my sides. And as I was very thirsty, I added an A&W Root Beer in a size small.
Why? Well it was the cheapest but they were charging nearly $3 for a small basically a fountain soda that Circle K sells one three or four times as large for $1.10 or so!!!
Ridiculous!!
They they brought out most of my meal – see the attached picture. He had to go back as he forgot the Cole slaw. And when I asked about any hush puppy’s, he had to refer to the pictures to see that they were not included. In other words, he had little knowledge of what they offer. And while not discourteous, I just don’t think he was happy I came inside to order and eat…
Now look at the picture. You should be thinking what small portions…right?
You ain’t a kidding. Most everything tasted and felt reheated as even the fries were terrible. And when I asked for Mayo, I was flat out told they don’t carry that…what?
And as for the clams…
Well they weren’t terrible but they also were not good. Most, or at least a third of what I was served were nothing but remnants and very small, tasteless, except for being, shall we say crispy.
Now look at the Cole slaw. Not a full container by any standards but it wasn’t terrible once I added several sweetener packets BUT I PAID MORE THAN $21 for this dinner that I could have duplicated with a more tasty and filling TV dinner or two for half the price.
The shrimp were okay but not a size I expected. I would have done better buying a shrimp ring at the nearby Walmart !
So, reluctantly I am awarding just two stars and that’s being generous IMHO….

It was hotter and more humid in the store than outside. Should have been my first clue to leave. I drove 40 miles to have A&W. The staff was not rude, but really didn’t seem to want to be there at all. The floors were completely wet and no wet floor signs put out. Though i told my youngest to be careful, she still slipped and fell. None of the staffed seemed too concerned about the fall. Order was input wrong, but the workers did correct it and brought us the correct food. The tables and seats were sticky like they hadn’t had a good degreasing in while. If you want people to come to your business, make it comfortable and clean for them.

About 12:30 on a Saturday. Place was almost deserted. Did drive through, they didn’t have corn dog nuggets. Friend ordered a burger plain, no cheese and sweet tea. Burger was made wrong, tea looked like urine and tasted terrible. Ended up with LJS chicken and cheese curds. Curds were a solid fried lump. Took over 15 minutes to get the food in drivethrough.

Last time we were there, the drive up would not take our order until we got to the window- and it took forever to get to the windows, waiting on others to get their orders fulfilled. THIS time, we went in and it took 34 minutes for them to fulfill an order for a burger & cheese curds. This place has good food, IF you have time to wait for it. The service is just horrible EVERY SINGLE TIME WE HAVE BEEN THERE. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.

2 cars in the parking lot and 2 cars in the drive thru and i sat in the drive thru for 15 minutes to get my food, the lady who brought my food was very rude and should not be dealing with the public. Food wasn’t up to par, and even the root beer didn’t taste as good as a normal A&W. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO GO ELSEWHERE. $30 for a meal for 2 and it took FOREVER to get.

Food took forever, tasted wrong – half expecting one of my group of three to have food poisoning based off how off/rancid it tasted. Entire building smelled horrible, and feels like I need a bath after just walking in. Very upset I wasted my time and money here. Please avoid it.

I used to love coming to this place when I was younger. Man had this place gone downhill. The restaurant needs a major deep clean it smelled of old fry grease and the floors were so sticky. Especially that carpet in front of the soda fountain. I can only imagine how disgusting it is underneath. I think there were maybe 2 workers when i came in. The food did come out quickly but the cheese curds were so greasy and the rest of the food was sub par. They were out of corn dogs and didn’t have any life for the green bean containers. Over half of the tables at the restaurant were still dirty even though there was only 3 of us dining in. Unable to get the root beer because the entire line was foam for several cups trying to fill it up. Unless something changes would not come back I should have just stuck with the good memories I had.

I have very nostalgic feelings every time I have A&W. Our burgers were delicious, and the cheese curds were good. Root beer was on point. The only regret I have is not having a root beer float!

Marcia was absolutely amazing! The nicest person I’ve met in a very long time! She made the experience worth it! I’ve not been to an A&W / LJS in years, so I had no idea what I wanted. She was very patient and explained what all came with specific dishes. The building was very clean and inviting. We will be returning
