Absolutely outstanding! I just had the most amazing BLT with coconut bacon at ROOT on Broadway in Newport — pure amazeballs. They never disappoint! Awesome vegan place for lunch, brunch or breakfast.
We had the Greek bowl and Arriba bowls. Staff is friendly and helpful with their recommendations and favorite picks. They happily obliged to customization requests on the standard bowls.
Also tried their Orange Ya Glad(added ginger) and Green Machine Juices which were both very refreshing.
The Ciao Bella sandwich was nice but slightly low on seasoning per our taste.

Absolutely delicious!! Stopped here from out of town for a quick vegan meal and wow it blew me away. I got the BLT and added avocado, the glow bowl, and the pulled jackfruit sandwich with a smoothie. Everything was made quickly, the flavors were so vibrant and unique – 10/10 hope to be back soon!

My mom, sister, and I came all the way from CT today so my sister could show us this place. It exceeded my expectations even beyond the amazing things I’d heard. Food was amazing, vegan goodies in our sandwiches and salads were made in house, not processed. Such a treat. Everything was delicious, the service was beyond – we had a lovely conversation with the owner, who clearly runs the establishment with only the highest of vibes!!! Can’t wait to go back.

Great little place with a fabulous plant-based menu!
We got the East Bowl, Cobb salad w/jackfruit and the Seaside smoothie and each was delicious.
The coconut bacon was particularly addicting.
The folks working were very friendly and welcoming and added to the overall experience.

The food was absolutely amazing—I’ll never forget that incredible toast! This place has a hard closing time: around 4:45 they start mopping and sweeping, and you’ll need to take your food to go. Which I get, just something to keep in mind when planning your visit. The food is totally worth every penny spent here.

I was very happy to find a plant based food place right in the center of Newport. We got glow, arriba and eastern bowls, chickpea sandwich and couple of toasts. Not cheap, but food was good (except 2 out of 3 dressings, too acidic to my taste). Will definitely come back when I’m again in Newport.

So good we went 3 times in 24 hours! I’m not even vegan! The options are really delicious, filling, and clean. We’re from NYC so we can be picky about food but Root didn’t disappoint. The owners and staff were really nice and we loved going back to try something new from the menu each time. We’ll miss this for sure. Can’t wait to go back next season!
