Ordered food at seven. Website says they close at nine. Ordered family bucket (there are five of us) of spaghetti with meat sauce on the side. Two orders of meatballs and two orders of garlic bread. We receive the bread and meatballs but the spaghetti and meat sauce was received in shallow tin pans. Not family size. Prob serving size for 2. Cost of over $40. The person preparing the food left immediately after so I’m assuming they didn’t want to wait around to prepare the correct amount of food. Do better Sam’s. There is a reason why you are never busy and you’re having to close locations.

So disappointed with our meal. I was home visiting from Florida and I was craving a Sam’s Italian. I couldn’t believe how skimpy it was and how much the prices had increased. Paying $30 for two sandwiches and two bottles of soda is absolutely ridiculous.

Loved Sam’s since I was a kid… nostalgia most likely but that nostalgia must make them some $$ by keeping the same recipes they’ve always had. Their Italian sandwiches are supreme though 100% compared to other stores that use provolone cheese or pickle chips instead of sliced spears and American cheese.

We visited Sams on Sabattus street. My husband always orders the same sandwich which is the chicken salad, cheese, greek olives, salt and pepper. Now, I know tines are tough right now, but they are no so tough that you only give a customer a quarter of the chicken salad. That was NOT worth the money. Shame on you.

Over the past decade, I’ve noticed a decline in the quality and service at Sam’s, which is disappointing for an iconic local restaurant in Maine. I’m not sure if there’s been a change in ownership or what the cause might be, but it’s clear that things aren’t what they used to be.
I understand that rising food costs have led to higher prices—that’s the reality everywhere. But if you’re going to charge more, the quality should reflect it. Customers should walk away impressed, not disappointed.
Lately, the Italians have seemed premade and lacking in freshness, with very little filling—mostly just bread. On one occasion, I even received the wrong sandwich. And when I recently picked up a breakfast pizza, the staff member was outright rude.
Great food, attention to detail, and friendly service are what made Sam’s the best Italian sandwich shop in town. Where did that go? I hope to see a return to the high standards that made this place a local favorite.

The young gentleman named Adrian, who waited on me, was extremely slow – he was putting pickles one at a time on the sandwich. It took 15 minutes for him to make two sandwiches. Not to mention he was extremely rude, got my order wrong from the very beginning, and when I commented that I had not wanted Salt-and pepper he told me not to cop an attitude.
Also, there were two people behind me, waiting to be waited on while two other workers stood in the back of the kitchen talking. Will not be going back to that establishment ever again.

Been So long since we’d been here. Missed the food, and really enjoyed the eggplant and veal Parmigiano. Wish we had this in MO!

Ordered a large turkey italian. Just turkey and cheese (i didnt want veggies on it) it was slightly longer than a hotdog roll, with 2 pieces of turkey and 3 slices of cheese. For $10.50?? Ill never come back again. That was a disgrace. I rarely ever write a bad review…but this needs to be known

I had a tuna sub with tomatoes. The tomatoes were white, hard as a rock, and completely inedible. When that is half of the ingredients on your sandwich it is very disappointing
