Had to take a trip to Bainbridge for business and we decided to have lunch at Boyd’s. It’s a counter service order restaurant with servers that deliver your food and check up on you for refreshed drinks. The pork was good – a little too mushy – but great flavor. My husband had a hamburger which was delicious with homemade french fries. The homemade pound cake tasted just like his grandmother’s- and he loved it.

I wish my DH had not ordered the nachos because it was the same pile of mush as my pulled pork. Too bad they didn’t give us the sour cream as was stated on the menu, that might have made it edible. Asked for a go box but just left it on the table, it was that disgusting

Best part of this place is the building itself. Food is subpar. You can eat paper if you had to, but you wouldn’t want to if you didn’t have to. Same goes for this place. Food was tender but bland and didn’t have much taste. Service is non existent, but they are friendly about their lack of care for the customer.

This is the kind of place you go because the food is good with generous portions and the service is fast and friendly.
We had the breaded tenderloin sandwich and the Boyds Butt Rub Burger. The tenderloin sandwich – oh my goodness, it is HUGE! It was about 8″ x 4″ and thin. They put it on a bun, which is comical, but my husband LOVED it. The Butt Rub Burger, has bacon, cheese, grilled onions, bbq pork, and coleslaw. It was delicious, just the right amount of sweet and tangy. My only complaint was it’s messy. The bun does not standup to the juices from the slaw and pork, a brioche style bun might work better, but the flavor – HEAVENLY!
This is not a large place, maybe 10 tables. I did see several people come in to pick up takeout orders. And they close mid afternoon (3 the day we were there), so keep that in mind.
This is definitely one of those “hole in the wall” type of places that you are excited to find.

I am a bq fanatic and was excited to try this place. I was highly disappointed. The side portions are very small. The baked beans are canned pork n beans, nothing baked bq beans about them. The pulled pork on the sandwich was very mushy, no smoke flavor. The collards were canned. They charged .80 cents for cup of water. It wasnt worth $45 bill, need I mention they charged 3% for using a credit card. Very disappointed.

Very good food, people are nice, clean, only one bathroom, you order at the counter and pay then sit, you fix your own drinks they bring your food out to you and that’s it, you clean up after your self no waitress service here. So if you are wanting that this is not for you. This is like ya down home backyard BBQ only inside. Where the food is great. When we want BBQ THIS IS THE PLACE WE COME.
