Always been a lover of pizza king’s strombolis. So I did an online order today and came to pick it up and they were having a technical issue with their iPad. And this worker named Destiny was very sweet, she told me the issue, and made my food for me after the error. She also gave me a big bag of chips for free, which was very nice of her.

THIS PLACE RIPS YOU OFF. CHARGES A HANDLING FEE FOR ME PICKING UP A BOTTLED SODA OUT OF THE COOLER. I PAID CASH. ASKED THE BOY WITH PINK HAIR WHY THEY DID THIS AND HE SHRUGS HIS SHOULDER. I DONT KNOW. I ASKED, “DOES ANYBODY KNOW?” FIVE WORKERS HALF WITH PINK OR PURPLE HAIR STANDING AROUND AND NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING. HERES THE RECEIPT. Be careful if ordering from Pizza King Newburgh when using DoorDash, GrubHub, etc. They will short you on the ingredients. Here are pictures of when I went in and picked up a stromboli versus when I had one delivered and there is a huge difference between the two. If you pick it up yourself, you will get a thick, meaty stromboli. If you have it delivered, you will be eating mostly bread.
**Update – I guess the owner is an idiot. When I complained about skimping on the sandwich, he said that they weren’t responsible for the order once it leaves the store. But you are responsible for what you send out, DUH!!

My family and I are from Tampa but we have family up here in Evansville and since my Dad grew up here everytime that we visit this is the absolute first place that we visit because we have to get the Stromboli because it is so amazing and is truly the staple food everytime we come to Indiana. This location in itself is also great because it has a very casual atmosphere so it is a great place to socialize with friends or family without having to worry about holding up a table for waitstaff or being rushed in any way. Overall great food and atmosphere our family loves going here for some killer stromboli.

One of my favorite restaurants in the tri-state area! I highly recommend the regular stromboli (hot)! Good pizza and sides as well. Great for a quick, unassuming, delicious lunch with the family. We like to get it for family get-togethers at home.

Doesn’t stay open late enough and they quit selling beer but still has a beer sign up i just read the prior post the company needs to have a mgnt change for someone that cares instead of only caring to get home with min effort when you spend hard earned money and get the service mentioned it will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Absolutely horrible customer service! The young girl with dark hair in a ponytail was cutting my pizzas, I said they both looked burnt, she took her bare hands lifted up 1/2 of one pizza and said rudely that it was not, then looked at another employee rolling her eyes like how dare she question me. Both pizzas are burnt all over the top. Horrible experience and will not be back.

Eating at Pizza King is a highlight of every trip back home to Evansville. The diced pepperoni and thin, slightly charred crust I’ve never found elsewhere. I’ve eaten embarrassing amounts of this pizza in a single sitting.
Their strombolis (for those not from the area, we’ve misappropriated the term – Evansville stroms are not a true stromboli, but rather a delicious sub-like sandwich with sausage, onions, tomato sauce, and mozzarella) are fantastic.
There is another great location on St. Joseph and Franklin (west side of Evansville) where I ate growing up, but I usually stay nearer to the Newburgh shop when I visit. The staff in Newburgh are great and they recognize me even though I only make it in once or twice a year. 🙂
