We tried out the Downers Grove location for the first time for carry out, we got 2 thin crust pizzas, 1 with pepperoni sausage and Italian beef and one cheese I added extra cheese to both. Overall very good crust it had a nice crunch factor, the cheese had good pull and the toppings were very tasty. I might not get the extra cheese next time as it was a little on the salty side but definitely good authentic Chicago style pizza.

Driving through Chicago I’m trying out different pizza and sub restaurants and I stumbled upon Al’s Pizzeria in Riverside/ Broadview. It seemed like one of those mom and pop hole-in-the-wall spots that usually have the best food! I usually do not care about bad customer service, but this was something else. The cashier was too busy hanging out with his friends all behind the counter to acknowledge me properly. No greeting, no welcome–just a flat “What can I get you?” Meanwhile, his friends got better treatment like they were VIPs.
I decided to try the meatball sandwich, which turned out to be a joke. It came with two mediocre-sized meatballs on a dry roll that tasted like it was leftover from the day before–tough, crumbly, and hard to bite into. Honestly, I’ve had better sandwiches at gas stations.
The side salad was barely that. Just the woody core of iceberg lettuce with two sad cucumber slices and a cherry tomato thrown in. They did give me a full container of ranch, which was overkill for the salad–but I ended up using it on the slice of sausage pizza I got, so that worked out. Speaking of the pizza–it was okay. Not terrible, but not memorable either. Then again, can you really mess up pizza?
All in all, I won’t be going back unless it’s to give them a second chance to make that sandwich edible.

Ordered pizza, wings, and the fried dough with sugar as a treat for my hardworking staff. Al’s delivered hot food IN A SNOW STORM. And when I called to let them know they sent garlic parm bites instead of the sugary fried dough bites, the lady who took my call was super nice and offered to send the delivery driver back out to bring us the correct item. Made my staff very happy bc they love those fried dough bites. Pizza and wings were very good too! Thank you to the Al’s staff!

Rotten potatoes ,barbeQ chicken over cooked and one salad missing . I used to come to this restaurant as a kid in Cicero with my family it was one of my favorite restaurants.$73 dollars down the drain. When was the frying oil changed?

This pizza beats all cicero and berwyn pizza places i tried! lots of older places def lost there touch, and either went cheap and are not using quality ingredients or skimp on the ingredients in my opinion but not AL’s!
From the dough to the sauce, cheese, and toppings, this pizza has that old school flavor i remember eating as a young kid i ordered a large well done thin crust peperroni za 5/5 came in cluch on the flavor. Jalapeño popers 5/5 and mozz sticks were 5/5. Again, this is the pizza flavor i remember as a youngin, thanks for keeping it quality controlled, Tip your servers!

We ordered two barbecue chicken dinners. The barbecue chicken was overcooked very dry taste like the chicken was old. The fries were over cooked or reheated.

Pizza was good.
