It’s a time vault or in a time warp. Very classic old school broiler with an old school menu. This visit was just for cocktails in the bar. The bar was packed, mostly for diners. The food is always consistent. I’m not sure where one would have for prime rib dinner that comes with an iceberg l salad, and a baked potato still wrapped in foil. I’m not s beef eater but they’ve got a good reputation with older locals, they still grind their own beef for burgers. Next visit we’ll have dinner there, I haven’t eaten there since the 70’s. The bar staff put together a great Sazerac I ordered. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a table full of old gals with blue hair having martinis and a good time. Great prices!

My wife and I visited this place and were enjoying ourselves, especially the tasty tater tots. Unfortunately, the man sitting next to us seemed to have had too much to drink and got into a heated argument with another patron. To avoid the situation, we decided to grab our appetizer and move to a table. The bartender didn’t seem to care that the man was swearing at the other guy. Despite this incident, we plan to give the place a second chance because the food was good and the prices were reasonable.

The meatloaf, cheese it salad, dark atmosphere and people your grandparents would hangout with are the reason we come back. 11oz prime rib is on for this evening

The food was awful, and the table and booths we were seated at were sticky and not cleaned. The prime rib tasted as gray as it looks. My husband had a steak that was also unseasoned and was well done when requested to be medium rare. The vegetables served with the meals were obviously canned or frozen. The kitchen is open so you can see them microwave so much of the food. I also can’t believe a dinner salad is lettuce, 1 slice of salami cut up, and 3 cheez its. I had to ask for our drinks, which weren’t brought out until after our food, and then was never offered a refill. $70 down the drain on a meal we could not finish. Do not waste your money.

The food was terrible. The salad had cheezits on it and no cheese or croutons. The jalapeño poppers were only edible because of the sauce that came with it. The filet mignon had no seasoning whatsoever. Not even salt and pepper. The vegetables were canned and not fresh and this meal cost us over $100 after tip and we didn’t even order drinks.
We had to ask for steak knives after our food was delivered and the manager or whoever it was decided it was a good idea to admonish his underling in front of us before we were seated.
Our waitress was friendly and quick with requests which is the only reason this place gets 2 stars. It certainly wasn’t for the food.

For a classic 50’s steakhouse atmosphere, can’t be beat!
The vegetable beef soup was overflowing with delicious big chunks of beef. The London broil was tasty, a generous portion, and had a nice peppercorn gravy that really complemented the flavors, and the baked potato was creamy and tasty even without the toppings, and even the potato skin was delicious.
The interior decor and staff look like they haven’t changed for years, which is part of its charm – dark wood, odd photos of underwater tentacles, comfortable booths, low lighting, an aquarium. It seemed like many of the patrons were well known by staff and come there every week.

I had carryout and found the prices reasonable. The lasagna was lacking in both favor and cheese. I think I made a mistake in getting carryout and will dine in next time.

Folks were super courteous.

Not recommended. The food was awful and the service was subpar. When we arrived with an infant, the hostess originally asked us to hold our baby throughout our meal rather than leave him in his pramette stroller. She eventually found an area where the stroller was “allowed”, despite there being ample space (and very few other customers) in the restaurant at the time.

Staff were not welcoming. There were no smiles, and our waitress never acknowledged us when we said thank you throughout the meal. The prime rib was overcooked, the filet mignon was unseasoned while the vegetables were too salty, and the shrimp cocktail appeared to be made from tiny pre-peeled shrimp similar to what one would find in the frozen grocery section. Overall a very disappointing experience given the restaurant’s history.
