During this visit, I enjoyed the Sunday soulfood buffet. All of the food was hot and delicious and very well seasoned. The chicken and fish were cooked to perfection. The servers were very attentive and kept our drink cups refilled and dirty plates removed. I will definitely visit again whenever I am in Franklin, VA!!

Went here for the first time today and order the catfish plate…but unfortunately…the cat fish is not real catfish…it is a Swai fish. When I called he tried convincing me it was real, but my husband is a chef ( he wanted to take a break from cooking since we cooked for Christmas) and we decided to support this place…I was hoping we would want to go back…but I doubt it very seriously…especially since they are selling swai fish as catfish!

The table next to us put it this way: “I don’t know what y’all are doing back there but keep doing it!” It felt like eating with family because of the portions, the care from the staff, and the clear love put in the food. We’ll be back next time we’re in town!

This place is downtown near the post office. Kinda small parking lot but it’s ok. Inside is bright open, clean & I was greeted right away. I was shown a table & then the huge board for lunch was slid over to my table. Kinda shocked me but it was easy to read, prices marked clearly too. I ordered the catfish dinner. It was good could been crispier but for what it was it was good. It was hot n tasted nice. Cornbread & string beans were good as well. The service was nice & the manager waited on me, he was nice & polite & very knowledgeable about the place. Portion sizes not huge, just right ( for me ). Seemed pretty popular with locals too. I’ll definitely go back & try other items.

We enjoyed both our meal and the atmosphere. The T-bone steak and the black & blue burger were great. It’s a family owned restaurant and feels like you’re surrounded by local regulars who know it’s the place to be for dinner. Our server was very invested in the success of the restaurant and extremely helpful as we considered different menu options.

I am from Texas and moved from the area 20+ years ago. I missed the crab cakes. They were awesome here. Home made and the sides were excellent to as well as the cornbread. Come hungry cause the serving sizes are big too!

Every time I am in town Wydia’s is my first stop. This restaurant is by far one of the best restaurant in town. With amazing service and the best comfort food. Each time I come I order something different and it is always on point. Highly recommend!

The place really needs so TLC!! The waitress was very old and slow as molasses, I thought I was going to be her age by the time I got out there. The ceiling and vents were very dirty.
I ordered the special, which was fish, shrimp, and scallops and two sides, which I choose Mac and Cheese and green beans for 24.99. I was really thinking I was going to get some decent food.
Everything was fried and really didn’t have the melt in your mouth feeling. I could have done this at home. The only thing that was pretty good was the green beans, they had really good seasoning. The Mac and cheese was good also. the scallops were really small and tough and fried. I never had a fried scallop until here. Last time too.
My wife got the fish and shrimp so it wasn’t too different. I don’t care for tartar sauce but she said it was really good and probably the best tartar sauce she has ever had.
Needless to say, I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon, but was worth a try.

I popped by here while visiting a friend after their baby shower. When I arrived. I was immediately and warmly greeted, given a menu and shown the specials. Once I ordered my food I waited and saw how each person who came in was greeted the same way and how kind they were to customers. The staff knew the regulars and asked about their families even wishing one a happy birthday.

Now the food! I ordered the fish and shrimp with potato salad and rice and gravy. The fish and shrimp were hot and fried to perfection. The rice was cooked well and the gravy seasoned quite well. The potato salad was flavorful. The whole meal reminded me of family southern cooking and was fantastic. I definitely will return.

Steaks were juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. Sides were delicious. The man, the person who waited on us, was maybe the owner (acted as if he may have been) was excellent!
Would definitely go again!
