Really wish they had light bites or specials on their foods.
Good job
From a customer engagement perspective, “Cashier M” single-handedly is why I won’t try it again. Training/coaching won’t fix whatever is within her & Unfortunately she’s at the counter and took it out on me/us I guess.
But the “icing on the cake”
The food quality…
If I’m paying 5$ for a muffin/cupcake.
It should not be as hard as sheet rock.
I’m still intrigued – For other visitors reading..when they offer to heat something up to you…do they actually heat up the item or simply hand you a warm plate?
An experience I soon won’t forget
I was still craving some, so I planned to order pistachio and honey lavender. My sister and I stood by the macaron display for a while, trying to get an employee’s attention. Even though she clearly saw us, she kept pacing between the kitchen and the register, staying a distance away and never approaching. If you’ve been to the original location, you know I’m not crazy for expecting someone to be stationed at the macaron display—there used to be staff there to help you select flavors and package them before sending you to the register. That’s what I expected here too, especially since the display was far from the register.
After waiting, I finally walked up and asked if I was supposed to order macarons at the display or at the register. She gave me a half-smile like I was dumb for asking and said, “yeah you order right here at the register.” Obviously I know you pay at the register, but with the display so far away and several macarons missing flavor labels, I was hoping to point at them and ask questions.
The whole interaction put me off, so I only ordered two (the only ones that actually had labels) instead of the four I originally planned, plus a tiramisu. I ate the macarons there while waiting for my sister and they weren’t nearly as good as they used to be (they were very cold). The tiramisu I had at home and was disappointed again. The top was dried out like it had been sitting for a while, and the cream was stiff and tasted more like cooked cheesecake than the fluffy mascarpone texture tiramisu should have.
I could have overlooked the mediocre desserts if the service had at least been pleasant, but nothing justified the attitude and standoffishness, especially since there were no other customers needing attention. I won’t be coming back.
Unfortunately, the person at the register was kind of rude. I asked if she could bring something to my table, and she seemed to have an attitude. I waited about 10 minutes for my drink, thinking it would be brought over, but when I asked about it, she told me—while walking away—to pick it up from the counter.
If drinks are meant to be picked up at the counter, that’s totally fine, but it would’ve been helpful to know that upfront instead of waiting. Better communication would’ve made the experience much smoother.
