Inviting curb appeal. Very “local” feel. The owner, Nancy introduced herself. Upon arrival we were met with a bowl of popcorn to share. The menu has something for everyone and we ordered the Tavern Cuban and the Tavern Chef’s Salad. The Cuban was hot and tasty. One of the better ones I’ve had. The salad was loaded with lots of vegetables plus swiss, provolone, turkey and ham roll. The meal and service were so good, we decided to get the homemade White Chocolate Brownie Torte. Nice chocolate buzz for the ride home.

This local restaurant is a rare find, the food is excellent the menu is simple and healthy with excellent dishes made by Nancy the owner herself. I could recognize the French cuisine in Nancy’s menu. Just excellent!
We had such a delight meeting her and enjoying her mushroom soup she thought of the night before, the stuffed goat cheese mushroom was incredible. Nothing on the menu is fried so if you are looking for something healthy to eat but also to satisfy your taste buds this is the place for you.
The place is small and has an authentic feel to it with decoration that reflect Nancy’s delightful personality. This is probably one of my favorite places to stop by when I am in town. I highly recommend stopping by to try it out.

We stopped into Village Tavern for lunch the other day — first time here — and were honestly surprised at how good it was. I had the French Dip and we also shared some Nachos, both fresh and made right (not the pre-packaged stuff you get at some places). The vibe was really nice, the service was spot on, and everything just felt welcoming. Bonus points that it’s a short walk to some cool little shops, which makes the whole stop even better. Definitely worth recommending.

Such a hidden gem! The food was seriously awesome—way better than I expected for a small spot like this. They only serve beer and wine, but the selection was solid. Inside is super cute and cozy, with a decent-sized bar and plenty of seating. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

This is a cute place with a small bar feel. We waited over an hour for food. Waited over 30 min for the bill. The food was delicious, though. I definitely would not say this is the place for a quick bite, but the limited menu was ok. I had the Turkey Bacon and cheddar hoagie. I added barbeque sauce, which made it top notch. My companion had the Pesto and cheese flatbread, which he said was good. Saturday afternoon.

Very relaxed atmosphere, everyone is friendly, laid back. Had the meatballs, very hearty, for dessert, had the peanut butter pie, which was dressed with chocolate sauce, and whipped cream, good tasting. I had a great time just looking at the decorations around the tavern, reading the people and watching. Must see place.

Great place! Feels like everyone knows each other and they want to get to know you when you stop in for food or some really good beer. They have Orchid Island Grapefruit IPA on draft which is one of my favorites. I had the Reuben and my wife had the Cuban. The Cuban was delicious and so was the Reuben. The Reuben however was on the smaller size based on my experience but for the price I couldn’t complain. Definitely recommend you check the daily board for their specials and we will certainly be back. Hope you enjoy it too!
