It’s the kind of “barbecue” that you eat when there aren’t any other options. The meat is dry, the sides are microwave dinner quality, and the sauce is lame on a good day.

Fun little restaurant. We were traveling through at breakfast time and decided to stop. My daughter had a giant cinnamon roll and I had a brisket burrito. Staff was very polite. Bathrooms were clean. Food was great. Definitely will stop in again if I am in the area.

As an out of towner here on business I needed to find place to eat dinner. As I drove by, it called me to return and I am glad that I did. The ribs combo was great and the chicken salad side was wonderful as well. The mac n cheese, while good, was disappointing. A warm and welcoming atmosphere as well.

They have really great meat. Occasionally run out of sliced brisket though and that bums me out. Overall, it’s a top contender in Artesia for best-tasting food. Also, the staff are really top-notch. Very friendly and accommodating… In-store or drive through.

We are from Oklahoma and heard about this place through a friend who used to live in Artesia. This place rocks! Some of the best bbq I have ever had. Friendly staff and laid back atmosphere! If I am ever back this way, will definitely stop in again!

Place is really nice inside, staff are nice and friendly. The food was ok at best though everything was in a warmer stream table and done already. The mac and cheese wasn’t good, it was way mushy and tasted watered down. The potato salad was excellent. The fries were cold, below room temperature cold. The brisket that was chopped was good, the sliced definitely was a day old and rubbery. It was pre sliced which made it worse. I believe it should be sliced to order and kept warm whole but that’s just my opinion.

I don’t know what it is about barbecue places outside of Texas. They all try so hard and you can see it in the sweat, blood and tears of the owners that desperately attempt to make their barbecue the best. But, sadly, they all seem to fail miserably. Is it something fed to the animals, maybe some magic in the soil, something that can explain why Texas barbecue is pretty much amazing? But, you cross the border into New Mexico and the barbecue takes a turn for the worse. Maybe they’re trying to differentiate themselves from Texas, trying to bring a “New Mexico zing,” or perhaps they just despise Texas. Well, whatever the reason is, this place misses the mark. The customer service is outstanding, the heart is there, but that Texas barbecue flair isn’t in the air, hence, I’m giving it three stars for the service and the effort. I wanted to like it more, but, the place just “isn’t”, if that makes sense. If you’re hard up for barbecue, or have never had authentic Texas barbecue, you won’t know any differently, but to those of us who do, we can taste it. I hope this helps someone.

They were all sold out of the beef ribs, so we bought the pork ribs. Wow! The meat was fall off the bone tender and the loaded mashed potatoes is fantastic! Their food matched their top notch customer service. I stop in every time I’m in town.

The ribs were juicy though a little tougher than preferred. They also lacked enough dry rub and smoky flavoring. The brisket was boiled and had not much flavor but was not dry. The sausage was good. Overall, not bad but could be better.
