Second best Ramen I’ve had including my trip to Japan. The stout broth is so flavorful. 100% wish they had a place to sit and eat but I’ll take what I can get to not have to drive to the north location. They package everything well so it travels well to your destination.

i have been loving this spot lately! it is pickup or delivery only, but it’s perfect for picking up a bowl
of ramen to enjoy at home. they make it easy to order online and pickup at the window. don’t let the outside and lack of dine-in deter you, they have some awesome food!

i love the veggie shoyu broth, and a shoutout to their tofu that fits the dish perfectly. as someone who doesn’t normally like tofu, theirs is so yummy. I will probably pay to add more next time.

it’s not too expensive — so I always splurge for a couple more items like edamame and potato korokke (love both!) which feels like such a treat. would recommend and will be visiting again soon! thank you michi!

I’m so surprised by the low rating. This is my favorite ramen in town, even better than ramen tatsuya. I only had the vegetarian and it is way better than Tatsuya. The both is flavorful and tofu delicious.

This location is take out only .

Can’t rate food because hot soup in plastic sounds gross.

Also, it should be noted somewhere online or on google maps that it is take out only (and always?? Not sure window person was a dreary sad sack)

Boo! Looking forward to hot ramen on a cold night and it didn’t happen.

The broth is way too salty but lacked of other complex tastes.

The default menus come with only the most basic toppings and you’ll have to pay extras for everything else (like egg, seaweed, menma, etc. that are defaults at other places.) Even to get the pork belly chashu you will need to pay extra. This makes it more expensive than other ramen places.

I would not complain much about the prices if the ramen tasted good but for what I got it doesn’t worth it.

Note: this place do take out only so go elsewhere if you want to sit down.

If I could give Michi a 4.5 or 9/10 I would. This place was actually better than I thought it was going to be. I wish they had spice bombs but at the end of the day this wasn’t a bad bowl of ramen.

Noodles were thicker, you can choose your broth thickness and they have a wide menu. I would go back 100%.

Good place to get quick ramen, albeit a little pricy. They usually get the order right, but we have had a few instances where they’ve messed up or forgotten an item. I definitely recommend ordering over the phone as opposed to online as you can customize your order a bit more, and they’re more likely to get it right. On one particular occasion, I ordered online and was charged the online value, but my order was missing some items. My online receipt had all the items I ordered, but the receipt they printed out and placed on my bag didn’t have the missing items and a cheaper total price, so technically they made the order correct based on their receipt. I did, however, still get charged for my original order, so that was upsetting because it was more expensive.

Take out only, don’t expect to have tables inside or outside where you can eat.
Parking easy and very simple menu to choose from.
Currently the best take out Ramen I’ve discovered in Austin.
Music inside was questionable while waiting for order (still must be to someone’s taste?)

Ramen Tatsu Ya (South Lamar):
First, let me say that this review comes a little late – almost 3 weeks. But, I have never forgotten the phenomenal service and food there.

My sister and I went there on a Thursday evening around 5:45 p.m., and there were very few people there. We were PROMOTLY greeted by a wonderful manager. I THINK her name was Allison. She was a small blonde with an AMAZING attitude and smile.

I had a number of questions, and this manager KNEW the menu (so refreshing!) and explained everything thoroughly.

My sister and I both got the The OG with the corn bomb. We also ordered the asparagus appetizer. (You order at the entrance, and THEN find a table. European-style.)

The place is a bit dark and seating is at long picnic-style tables.

The roasted asparagus appetizer was a BIG surprise. The asparagus texture was like shredded paper (really), but the flavor was so good – light and airy. My sister said she could’ve had the appetizer by itself.

The OG ramen bowl was plentiful and delicious. There was enough for two servings, but I finished mine off. My sister took home leftovers.

The one whole egg in the ramen absorbed all the flavor of the broth, which was a nice treat. Most ramen places slice up the egg. I liked the idea of a whole one.

We had a lovely, relaxing, first time experience and want to go back.

The CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCEPTIONAL – WARM AND WELCOMING.

The only thing I didn’t care for was the dark ambience. Maybe they keep it dark so one one will notice how old the building is. Hmmm…

Interestingly, they have a Take Out window.

Anyway, by the time we left, it was almost packed with people.

If you enjoy ramen, I encourage you to try Ramen Tatsu-Ya on South Lamar. Wonderful staff. Delicious food.
