I wanted 2 Souls Cakes, one without rice. The Owner Kim was rather rude!! He exact response “We don’t make changes to that”!! I responded I can’t have 1 without rice?? I just had a tooth removed yesterday, so the soul cake would be perfect for my situation. And the answer was no?? I still got my husbands order!! But I’m mad at myself cause I paid to be mistreated. Yes we all have bad days, and no I don’t know what the owner Kim is going through today 1/28/26 but Ms. Kim has been rude or nasty several times. I try to support black owned businesses but 5 Star Kitchen, I’m done. I’m gonna miss the food but not the nasty bad attitude owner Ms. Kim.

The lady that take your order over charges so make sure you add up your total. I bought a turkey burger at $12-$13, I gave her a $20 and she gave me 75c back. I asked what was the extra charge she said taxes. She lied! To avoid a argument I left it alone and valued not to ever go there again. I believe she treat the ladys with a nice body differently then she do anyone else. Jealousy at its best!

This food is excellent. The Soul Pie is so tasty. I really enjoy the corn bread and the turkey Chilli has enough meat to be satisfying. The beans and rice are flavorful. There’s a well proportioned slice of corn bread in the mix. It’s garnished with sour cream and green onions. One word, DELICIOUS!!!!

I live within walking distance and just discovered 5 Star Kitchen. I got two ground turkey tacos and my grandson got the three salmon tacos and fries. Talk about delicious, it was the best tacos I’ve ever had. The tacos were crispy and crunchy, but not hard. The seasoning was superb!! Love this place and will be ordering again. I ordered through Postmates, but will walk around next time.

the food is soooo enjoyable and tasty! I shared it with my family, and they absolutely LOVE the selection. Thank you for such delicious flavors—we truly appreciate it! It’s a one stop shop for creole, soul food, kettle fried chicken with sweet pickles, and tacos all at ONE SPACE. It’s the best and a small business in the making of becoming the SPOT TO BE AT. I loved the culture of seeing all folks of the community working together. I recommend ordering your food first then going to pick it up. However, I enjoyed the wait because I had opportunity to observe, embrace, and have meaningful conversation with the team.

I decided to drive from Hollywood to eat from this plc today and boy oh boy I regret it. The cashier a light skin girl was great/ polite, but the boss lady what an awful attitude! I got my order and an item was missing I sent my son to go tell them and the owner told him you got everything you order he said no and she kept telling him go look again so I went in and explained to to her what I did get and she insisted I got everything I ordered arguing with me then gone say “give her it (missing item)I’m not bout to argue with her”. Like wow that attitude is unbelievable. Never will I go back

My go to spot for a quick delicious meal in the neighborhood, been ordering food from Kim for years, never had an issue. Give respect and you get respect back. You can’t go wrong ordering anything on the menu, but I always get some tacos on the side. I gotta have em!
