I was kind of excited when I came across this birria tacos truck in the Sunset Park area one night. Before this, the only Birria tacos that I had was the mega popular Birria Landia in queens which is a bit of a trek for me living in Brooklyn. I know that Birria Landia opened up a satellite truck in Williamsburg, Brooklyn but that is still further than a short hop away when I have the munchies for these type of tacos. Now, this truck is just a short drive away for me.
I ordered 4 tacos and a small consome. After tasting it, I am sad to report that I might still have to go back to Queens or Williamsburg to get my Birria fix.
The tacos was just normal tacos seemingly just dipped in their consomme making it a wetter taco with a bit of extra flavor. The taco itself was missing that satisfying crunch that Birria Landia have despite the wetness saturating the tacos. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good taco, but I would not exactly call it birria tacos from my past encounters with them.
The consomme which is the stew that you could dip the tacos for added flavor or just consume alone as a regular soup, was watery and does not stick easily to the tacos. The flavor was also pretty mild and not as strongly seasoned as the other ones I ate before finding this truck.
It is a new truck, so I am hoping that they would be able to improve their recipe over time. I wish them the best of luck.

Randomly decided to grab a taco on my way home today. So good! Compared to a place of tacos I got recently ($16 for 3???!) their prices for tacos were great. Wasn’t expecting something *good* from a quick affordable food truck, but was pleasantly surprised!

BEWARE. This guy took my order and then screwed it up. Their online menu was wrong and it quoted me a different price and they overcharged me by $43. I made a big order to feed several people and I got six little tacos. I called them and they swore that they would refund me, but they never did. I will never order from here Again. If you do, beware.

Birria Tacos are On point. The red sauce is deliciously spicy and the dipping sauce is just something else. They open kinda late and that’s the only complaint!!
