Beautiful views. Food was very good. Cocktails were wonderful but the service was terrible. Long wait for a drink. We were told seating was limited to the bar. Reserved signs on tables that remained empty. Very over priced.

Would love to give this place a 5 because of the spectacular views it has to offer. However the host and the seating he chose for a party of six that was reserved more than a week in advance was totally unacceptable. Not only did he seem indifferent, but was unwilling to accommodate us with seats with better views. His response was that area was reserved for a private party. We were there from 630pm until after 10pm, never saw the imaginary private party in that area. Upon leaving the manager was informed about our displeasure with the seating arrangements he offered his business card to contact him when we come again. Really, no complimentary cocktail or discounts. Didn’t feel like he wanted our business, even though we spent over $700, price not a problem, cost of everything is on the menu and should not be a surprise when the bill comes. Food and drinks were good , the wait service also very good. Do better with the attitude of host and his people skills

The views are awesome and service outstanding. Kayla, our server, was attentive, caring and all around wonderful. A great place to view the city while enjoying a cool drink and delicious food. Top notch.

The Watergate Hotel is the perfect place for a sunset dinner. The views are amazing, the drinks are great and the service is exceptional. First time visiting, will return!

Unbeatable views of DC, gorgeous sunsets. The drinks are good and the food is ok, the appetizers we got were overly salty to my taste. The service is very friendly though. The hotel offers $25 valet parking and the staff will direct you to the rooftop elevators.

Everything was great, view and atmosphere! Super nice hostess, except that we had to do self-service and go to the bar for cocktails, and then return to the table;( also plastic glasses not impressive.

The most beautiful sunset I have seen in DC, but the service is way too slow! I wish they would do something to fix the service and this place would get a five star rating from me!

Amazing view and I would highly recommend it. The sunset was amazing and the food was delicious. I had a memorable experience and enjoyed it spending it with my wife and first born. If you are in the DC area, this is a must stop for the Watergate scandal and for the rooftop bar.

The bar at the rooftop has good views and the constant aeroplane activity is quite stimulating. The food range is limited with a few small plates though the drinks menu is quite nice.
Servers are nice.
The place could do with a touch up.
Easily one of the nice spots for a sun downer in DC

Top of the Gate is the quintessential D.C. experience. On the rooftop of the Watergate Hotel, there’s history (Watergate Scandal) and rooftop views. After going for drinks on a Thursday evening, here’s my experience:

1) Space: Walk through the Watergate Hotel lobby and take the elevator to the top floor. The rooftop is spacious with tables, couches, etc. It’s a great place for drinks or a date night.

2) Views: 360 views of the area, you can see Georgetown, the Washington Monument, Rosslyn, etc. Go when the sun is setting after a good rain. The sky s stunning!

3) Drinks/Food: They aren’t bad. It won’t win awards, but it’s decent enough, making it a fun spot for a happy hour or dinner.
