Amazing service and amazing people. Everyone was so nice and welcoming, even when it got busy. Our bartender made sure to check in with everyone, including us who had been there before the rush. Danielle was our bartender and she literally is a gem on earth. Five stars for Danielle and Trotters!

Been here several times, never had a bad experience. Food is very good, no matter what you order. Best French fries in the area. The bartender / server is very attentive and friendly.
They also have a pool table and Quick draw plus several TVs for your entertainment. Recommend stopping in if you’re in the Saratoga area.
Cost for 2 people is roughly in the $20-30. area. I know I’ll be going back !!!

Trotters is my favorite spot in Saratoga! Definitely a hidden gem. The food is delicious and fresh. They don’t overprice things so it’s affordable and also great! Pool table, juke box and TVs. Mel is a wonderful bartender.

Horrible first experience, bartender was very rude and I’m still confused as to why. I now see the many other reviews mentioning a similar experience, so it’s definitely an ongoing issue.

It was one week ago (5/29/25) that I had a strange and off putting experience at Trotters. I was in town for a conference so I popped in for a quick lunch. I sat at the bar and ordered a soda and a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. The food prices were posted on the wall but I didn’t see drink prices anywhere, with the exception of some beer specials. I finished up and put a $20 bill on the bar. One of the barmaids asked if that was mine, I confirmed it was and the other barmaid cashed me out. Then I waited, and waited, and waited…
Finally I got the attention of the 2nd barmaid and said, “Was there any change?”
At this point she printed out my check and put $2.25 on the bar in front of me. She seemed upset at me. I said, “I’m not a regular. I don’t know your prices.” Anyway, the grand total on the check was $17.61. So the change from a $20 bill would be $2.39. But she gave me only $2.25. This leaves me scratching my head…
First she gives me no check and no change. Then when I ask for change, she gives me less than it should have been. Obviously I am not upset at the 14 cents difference. I am upset with the whole transaction of 1.) no check 2.) no change, and then 3.) incorrect, lesser change.
Normally I would overtip in this situation and give $5 on the $16.70 subtotal. But the barmaid cost herself a few bucks with her mystifying and rude behavior. I’m still trying to figure this one out. Weird and off putting.
I suggest the owner investigate before crowds show up for the horse races.

This has been my favorite bar for 10 years. They are consistently wonderful. From the owners to the bartenders, especially Mel. They are an integral part of the community. You aren’t fully experiencing Saratoga Springs without a visit to this establishment. They’re open 7 days a week, earlier than everyone else, and the food is delicious. Very reasonably priced. This is not a paid partnership, I just really love Trotters.

I really liked the food and service here years ago, to the point where I recommended it to people as a hidden gem. Came back, the server was disinterested and rude. They charged 4 dollars for a club soda and 8 dollars for a white claw, cash only. You can spend the same amount and get much better service and a much better drink elsewhere.

My friends and I were asked to buy a drink when we entered the bar by the bartender and due to the fact we were in the middle of conversation with someone we said not right now. A few minutes later we attempted to exchange a dollar bill for quarters so we could play pool and we were told to leave by the bartender Lance because we weren’t allowed to “hangout”. I response we all said we would order drinks now assuming that the bartender was referring to the fact that we couldn’t be in there without buying something which makes sense. Lance then said that we missed the opportunity to order drinks since we said no initially and we were no longer allowed to buy drinks and that they can’t have people “just hanging out” at the bar. If you are interested in having a drink and hanging out with your friends at a bar apparently this behavior is not allowed at this bar and they will not accept money for drinks based on the principle that your hanging out in the bar. This bar will most likely not be in business in a few months due to the lack of understanding of how a business works fundamentally so this review is not even needed to foreshadow the fate of this dump.

When we arrived at this establishment the bartender Lance confronted us and asked if we wanted a drink. We responded by saying “no thank you.” After 10 minutes of catching up with friends we met there we then asked him if we could order a couple beers and have change for the pool table. He then responded “No, you guys had your chance” We thought this was a joke at first and laughed it off but he was dead serious and told us to come back next weekend. Horrible business and probably why they were near empty on chowderfest.

There’s a guy who works behind the bar who has refused my friends and me service twice. The first time was because we were “under 25,” the second time because two of our group had out of state IDs. Very rude, and ridiculous considering the out of state tourism that happens over the summer.
