Reviews
The best way to describe it is something like Las Vegas-style entertainment blended with an indoor Coachella, all under one roof. From what I understand, there are eight different concepts- restaurants, bars, and entertainment spaces- all connected within the same complex. It’s energetic, ambitious, and definitely designed for people who enjoy a lively atmosphere. So….. not your kind of place if you need to read a book. Oh, but for a TikTok post? Most DEFinitely!
I dined at Maison Kasai, their teppanyaki restaurant, and it was one of the better teppanyaki experiences I’ve had. Teppanyaki itself is fairly straightforward, so the quality comes down to service, attention to detail, and execution—and they did a great job with all three. I never get tired of fire flair.
Before dinner we were treated to a small magic performance, which was a fun and unexpected touch. The meal itself was excellent, and the pumpkin miso soup appetizer was especially memorable.
After dinner the venue becomes much more of a nightlife experience. There are multiple themed areas, including a pool space, a speakeasy-style bar, and live entertainment. It’s definitely high-energy and can feel overwhelming if you prefer quieter environments.
Overall, Level 8 is a very creative concept and worth visiting if you enjoy nightlife, entertainment, and a dynamic atmosphere. But be prepared. It’s not for the faint of heart!
The food looked better than what it tasted. The soup and salad were mehh. The main dish was ok- the choice of sauce made the whole plate. The dessert was ok too. The portions and flavor did not match the price. About $400 for dinner for 2 – with 2 alcoholic drinks each (mainly a large ice cube) We unfortunately will not be going back there. It was nice as a one time experience
Anywya, golden: The ambiance does it for this place. The service is fine. I think its crazy to expect 75 bucks per person to sit down. Even a drink and and app isn’t 75. The view is nice the music is fine. On cooler nights it’s every cold. The windy is brutal when it picks up no matter how many heaters are on. The food reminds me of being at an actual back yard BBQ. Because of the plates and the ham sandwich on a hot dog bun. Its tasty. Just interesting m the food doesnt natch the venue. Its like the esthetics of golden doesnt match the food. But its worth a try to see if you like it.
The views from the rooftop are absolutely stunning, offering a breathtaking backdrop of the Los Angeles skyline. It’s the perfect setting for an evening out, whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a special occasion. The ambiance is vibrant yet relaxed, making it a great place to unwind and soak in the sights.
We only had cocktails during our visit, and while the drink menu offered a nice selection, I must say the lemon drop was a bit too sweet for my taste. However, the overall cocktail experience was enjoyable, and the presentation was on point.
The service was attentive and friendly, which is always a plus. The staff made sure we were well taken care of throughout our time there, offering recommendations and checking in on us without being overbearing.
Overall, Level 8 Rooftop is a must-visit spot in Los Angeles. I’m so glad I introduced my friends to this gem, and I look forward to returning to enjoy more of what it has to offer!
Reserve yourself a little dome to sit in. Bring a jacket. It can be a little cold on the rooftop.
The drinks are fantastic.
Great place to bring a date or to hang out with friends.
Easy parking downstairs in the back. Valet parking or you can park in the lot right next to it. $25 For the lot parking.
There’s access with the name Level 8 on the right side. That leads directly to the elevators. Select the restaurant on floor number eight.
Welcome to LEVEL 8.
I will definitely be back.
I immediately knew this location was perfect to hold a whole evening of events, getting to experience completely different locations, foods, drinks, and entertainment, without having to go more than a couple of feet into the next room. Golden Hour is a must for pre-drinks and all your photos at sunset (obviously!), Maison Kasai has the best food and private dining, Mr. Wanderlust was perfect for post-dinner drinks with a bit of aerial, burlesque & live music, and Sinners Y Santos was an awesome club to close out the night. I loved every location, felt like I got my money’s worth with non-stop entertainment, and would highly recommend not only each venue by itself, but scheduling the same kind of multi-stop evening that Chrissy helped me create for a special event.
Chrissy assisted every step of the way, answering my many questions, arranging bookings, plan adjustments, special requests such as a vegan option, monitoring the budget, and was on-hand the evening of to make sure everything went smoothly. My biggest praise to her, however, is that a couple external issues popped up that couldn’t have been prevented and were no fault of Level 8, but how she proactively shared updates, made adjustments, and provided additional value to make up for the changes, was above and beyond – I felt like I ended up with an even better evening than we had planned because of how well she managed everything.
Thank you so much Chrissy for all that you did and to the whole team at Level 8 for such a great concept and incredible service – I can’t wait to visit again soon! Cheers!
Inside, things only went downhill. When we asked how to get to Level 8, the staff member we approached gave us little to no direction. No clear explanation, no guidance, just a vague response. We ended up walking down a long corridor unsure if we were even going the right way, until another employee casually said, “They should’ve told you to take the elevator.” Exactly. That would’ve been helpful.
Once upstairs, the hostess was equally indifferent. Her explanation of what we were supposed to do felt rushed and uninterested, as though assisting guests was a burden. To make matters worse, no one provided us with a menu — we had to go find one ourselves. That level of inattentiveness says a lot about the overall service standard.
The bartenders were fine, but one decent interaction doesn’t make up for the repeated lack of basic hospitality. From valet to the host stand, the experience felt disorganized, dismissive, and unnecessarily unpleasant.
There are far too many places that actually value their guests for me to consider coming back. Unfortunately, this visit made it clear that won’t be happening.
This place has such a good vibe, just horrible staff.
