I messed up. Ordered the red beans and rice, not realizing it came with two pieces of chicken. So I also ordered a chicken sandwich. Guess I will having that for dinner. $10.99 for red beans & rice, two pieces of chicken, cornbread and potato salad.

Clay’s Café is an absolute hidden gem in Metairie! Everything is made fresh to order, and the food is consistently phenomenal. The fried ribs are hands-down the best I’ve ever had—crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. All of their sides: sweet yams, the mac & cheese, potato salad, and cornbread are perfection. You can tell every dish is made with care.
The staff is incredibly welcoming. They treat every guest like family. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. The atmosphere is laid-back and cozy, perfect for a casual lunch during the week.
If you’re looking for real Southern comfort food and hometown hospitality, Clay’s Café should be at the top of your list!!!

OMG! The food is 10+Stars! The hospitality is unbelievably Awesome! The restaurant is small but the atmosphere feels Gigantic with Welcome Home Vibe! For people who loves home cooked Soul Food that’s not watered down and Well Seasoned! Clay’s Cafe is the Place To Eat, Socialize and Enjoy!

Had to try the fried ribs with garlic parmesan sauce. The were hot and delicious. The batter was both the perfect amount of coating and seasoning. They not skimpy with the sauce at all! I will be back.

Walking in I was greeted with comfort music & all smiles by whom I was told was grandmother(da owner) Her son family & etc came from the back yes almost closing time yet I wasn’t told to hurry or rushed for any reason besides 2 of same plate(in pic) also 2 loaded fries was purchased(sorry no photo)
