Great food. I had an order that was not complete. It wasn’t just their fault. I went back to get my pizza I forgot to grab. They were standing at the entrance waiting for me with my food and a gift card. Thank you for taking care of your customers. Stuff like this makes me a promoter. No BS, they just took care of me and I was very impressed. Thank you! Great food and a great menu! Fun place to go as well! Full bar and restaurant with a heated patio space thats really neat!

Food is very good. Pizza is my usual go to item. Service and food varies in quality from factors like how busy or time. Usually better than not. Pizza is very good unless it is cooked too early or I am too late – certainly not their fault. All in all I recommend them. Atmosphere is adequate and clean. Crowded at times.

First time here. The street side makes the place look sleezy, when you go in from the parking lot it’s really cute. The restaurant is clean and nice. The food was excellent. The food was served quickly and zero complaints about that. Itcwas wonderful. Only hickup was the bartender doesn’t seem to know how to make basic mixed drinks. The waitress didn’t want to question the bartender about how our drinks were made. (You don’t make a Manhattan with cinnemon whiskey and a cherry). Not a big deal overall, I just didn’t want fireball

Bear’s Lair in Florence is a great local spot with a welcoming, laid back atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel at home from the moment you walk in. They have a solid beer selection and the pizza is consistently delicious, whether you are stopping in for a casual meal or meeting friends. It is an easy favorite in the Florence community and always worth a visit.

I was a little nervous eating here, because they serve a little of all kinds of food, generally that means they are not great at any. But this place was different. My whole table ordered something different. And we All enjoyed what we ordered. The garlic bread was delicious.

Me and my husband really wanted to try a new place we hadn’t been before since moving to Florence from Hamilton, and we chose this place the other day, and we both loved what we got! We got the turkey club and the chicken salad. It’s exceptionally delicious. Totally worth the stop!

It’s nice to have another place to go in this area. The decor and overall feeling is inviting and laid-back. We just came in for lunch so we didn’t hang out in the bar but we walked around a bit to see it all. Everyone was very friendly. Really wish they had a pool table instead of all casino machines in the back.
I had chicken nachos. If you love cheese you’ll really like their nachos because they didn’t scrimp on the cheese the chicken had good flavor but I like my nachos with a little more flavor and kick. My husband had the Philly steak sandwich with au jus and grilled onions ( he asked them to do grilled onions so if you like those be sure to ask they are totally accommodating) He loved the sandwich and our friends tried it as well and said they were going to get that next time. The spaghetti and meatballs, meatball sandwich were all devoured by the kids. So that’s got to be a thumbs up.
Overall I think this place is good. You can tell it’s new and they’re still trying to get the kinks out but they seem to be doing it with a smile. We will definitely be back to hang out and check out the bar and try some different things on the menu.

I’ve been to Bear’s Lair dozens of times but, as someone with celiac disease and a dairy allergy, I’ve often left sick and eventually stopped eating here. I usually go to places like Taphouse that try to accommodate, but even there I’ve gotten sick lately.
I stopped in for drinks and thought I might risk a snack. I told Ryan, the bartender, about my allergies, and he went out of his way to make sure I was safe. He spoke to the kitchen to have them use clean gloves and personally poured my drink by hand to avoid cross-contamination. I didn’t get sick — a huge win for me!
On top of that, Ryan gave attentive, thoughtful service even though he was clearly busy. He kept an eye on our table, refilled drinks when needed, and made sure we felt taken care of without ever seeming rushed.
I still know I can’t order a full meal here as a celiac, but Ryan made sure I could snack and enjoy drinks safely. As long as Ryan’s here, I’ll keep coming back. Don’t lose him, Bear’s Lair — he’s a gem!

I ordered a Caesar, but the bartender served me a Bloody Mary instead. When I mentioned it, there didn’t seem to be much understanding of the difference between the two drinks. A Caesar should be made with Clamato juice, not tomato juice, and it’s a completely different flavor. It was disappointing to have such a simple request mixed up, especially since Caesars are a classic cocktail in Canada. Hopefully the staff can brush up on their recipes so future customers get what they actually ordered.

Wednesday 13 of us ladies had lunch here and EVERY meal was fantastic. From burgers, sandwiches, to huge salads!! The patio was set up, warm and ready for us to sit on the comfortable new padded chairs. Service was perfect too. And the prices ($12+) for the amount of food you get was so refreshing.
