My wife’s and I favorite new spot since we moved. Date night? Sahm’s place? Sure. I get the stir fry everytime. Chicken, Shrimp or Steak. Or a combo. They don’t have to prepare your meal in processed oils. A bonus for me personally. She’s had the sizzling chicken more than once. She always orders the honey brussel sprouts and of course I’m stealing some. Lol

I was on a adventure to find the best onion rings. It brought me here where the onion rings are battered in house with beer made by the family’s companies. They are a scratch kitchen which you can tell by the taste of the food. These were the best onion rings I found so far in Indy. I also took advantage of the 10 dollar pork tenderloin special on Mondays. One of the best tenderloin sandwiches I have had. This little diamond in the rough is now added to the list of places to frequent when I am in town.

The Elevator and Airplane Finder
All this time, I’ve driven by Sahm’s but never stopped in. I finally got to do so very recently.

Came at around 6 PM on a Friday and they were a little busy but we managed to get a table. Our waiter was SUPER friendly and attentive to our table.

We participated in the Devour Indy menu and started out with the Brisket Cheddar Balls as an appetizer. Those were really good! I then got the Chicken Velvet soup which that was tasty as well.

I then got the Fried Walleye Hoagie with fries as my entree and overall, I was impressed! The fish was fried perfectly and was crispy, the fries were pretty great as well.

Overall, if you’re driving along Keystone looking for a great local spot, Sahm’s hits all the marks! I’ll be back.

Overall I found this spot to have a nice atmosphere with very friendly staff. There appear to be some decently priced daily specials. There is a long list of side options, which I appreciate. I had a bit of an odd experience that I assume is not typical, but a couple things going wrong made for an overall negative experience. I looked at the menu online and saw the $10 tenderloin special on Mondays. I thought that sounded good, so I went in. I ask about specials and waitress says they aren’t doing specials this week, so I ended up ordering the pork chop instead. Immediately after ordering, I hear another waiter suggests the $10 tenderloin special to the table next to me. The pork chop comes out on a hot skillet that’s smoking a little too much. I’m surprised how thin it is and quickly realize that it’s burning and already well done all the way through. I quickly got it off the skillet to try to stop the cooking, but it was already significantly overcooked. I don’t know if their pork chops are normally so thin, but thin pork chops should be cooked carefully, not cooked and then thrown on a smoking hot skillet. If they would have started with a reasonably thick cut of meat, this could have been perfect. Charred outside with medium center sounds great. I would have probably appreciated the excessive smoke instead of being horrified that my meal was being burnt. On a positive note, they seem to be one of the few restaurants that understand how to select and cook asparagus. They serve the smaller diameter asparagus that’s actually tender.

We went to Sahm’s place and we really enjoyed our service from Kelly and Ariel. Kelly was a wonderful server, very kind, helpful, funny, and accommodating! We ended up having some issues with our food but the staff and manager handled it with understanding, grace and integrity. They took care of it for us and now instead of never coming back, we will definitely give them a second chance. We are glad that they were so nice! We really enjoyed the onion rings, and the sour cream coffee cake is a must! Can’t wait to come back!

Treat you like family, food is delicious, unique and well priced. Only issue was the restroom had a sewer smell which was off putting based on how close we were seated. Not sure that is their fault.
