The service team work well together to take care of the guests. Amazing salmon. Kitchen was very accommodating for dietary requests. Amazing seasonal cocktails.

I used to love coming to Joe’s on Higgins — it was easily a 5-star spot for the food, ambiance, and service. The food is still solid, and the new patio seating is definitely a plus, adding to the nice ambiance. Unfortunately, the service has really gone downhill. The server we’ve had multiple times now seems tired of serving and doesn’t take feedback well. On more than one occasion, she’s ignored us, delayed bringing drinks, and made us feel like we were asking for too much when we simply wanted to enjoy our meal.

It’s disappointing because this used to be a go-to place, but the attitude and lack of attentiveness from the server take away from the overall experience. I truly hope management addresses this, because Joe’s has the potential to get back to the 5-star level it once had.

Friday night dinner at Joe’s on Higgins in Chicago with the family! Started off with the Tito’s and tonic cocktail.
They brought out a fresh baked bread, basket with olive oil and cheese.
We ordered two appetizers, fried calamari and Arancini. If you don’t know what arancini is, it’s a fried rice ball stuff with meat and cheese, topped with marinara sauce. Delicious! For dinner we ordered two pizzas, thin crust half pepperoni and half sausage. The other pizza was recommended by our server Katie and that was the vodka burrata pizza.
Vodka burrata pizza has sausage, vodka sauce, burrata cheese and fresh basil. it was outstanding! They had live music, which was the piano man. he was doing a lot of Billy Joel songs. . I believe every Friday night they try to have entertainment. Our server Katie was awesome. Couldn’t have been a more perfect night. Joe’s on Higgins has an extensive menu from pasta and chicken
Dishes, and desserts. you have to try their cannolis and cheesecakes.
For five people including tip came to $155
So here’s the real question would I go back? absolutely!!

Alyssa was our server and she was absolutely wonderful! Very kind, efficient, quick, and has a wonderful personality! I will definitely be coming back just for her, she made my first experience here absolutely amazing! The fettuccine Alfredo was really good, the fried calamari was BOMB, and the ceased salad was also basic but very good. I also had the blackberry lemon drop drink and the mistletoe margarita and they were very tasty and get you feeling lit. I recommend this place as a good dinner date or celebration dinner place. Again, Alyssa was awesome!!!

I grew up eating Joe’s pizza quite a bit, as my parents live in the neighborhood. I haven’t had it in a while, as I moved away from the area, but recently ordered a pizza while visiting recently. Overall, the pizza tasted good and it was ready on time for pick-up, while also bringing back a bit of nostalgia.

Came for the food, will return for service and many meals to come! We heard good things about this location and we had a lovely meal. We ordered the eggplant stack which came breaded to perfection. The minestrone was deliciously homemade, hearty and well seasoned. The chicken parm features their famous marinara and the chicken limone was well balanced. Only regret was not having room for dessert.

Just get pizza here. This place used to just be named “Joe’s Pizza” and that makes sense as their other dishes aren’t as good as ”Pasta D’Arte Trattoria Italiana’ a couple miles away from it.

Don’t order the ‘Spaghetti Carbonara’ as it won’t be like the description of: “creamy egg yolk, pecorino, guanciale” stressing the “creamy” part not being there at all. When calling in a to-go order, all I asked for them to simply change the pasta from spaghetti fettuccine, and add chicken and peas yet had to drave back in and send it back as the pasta was super dry and sticking together. When bringing it up to them, they said “the only thing *creamy* we have is the Fettuccine Alfredo” which I thought was strange as in the description of the ‘Spaghetti Carbonara’ it says “creamy” and when asking why another restaurant made Carbonara “creamy” he said that was not the traditional Italian way, which I accepted, yet confused on why the menu would have “creamy” in the description written for the ‘Spaghetti Carbonara’ when they said they don’t cook it “creamy”
I was suggested the ‘Fettuccine Alfredo’ and requested they add the guanciale (pork) in it, along with the chicken * peas desired (which is what Pasta D’Arte a couple miles away suggests on their menu),

So, once the new pasta was out the staff said “we’re gonna have to charge you for this” and I paid with an understanding it was another dish, yet was a disappointed they mentioned it *after* it was brought to me, expecting them to make up for the terrible Carbonara and not charge me for something that nobody would eat. So, I ended up spending [before tax] $30 for a small 12″ sausage (+ 2 toppings) thin crust pizza, $20 for the terrible Carbonara, then later $22 (+ $5 for chicken) for the so-so ‘Fettuccine Alfredo’ with the guanciale (pork) and peas…Totaling $77 before tax [$83.63 with tax].

If I ordered something similar at the (honestly, more delicious “competitor,” Pasta D’Arte, a couple miles away it would be [before tax] $24.95 for the ‘Spaghetti alla Carbonara’ (+ $5 for chicken, +$2 peas), $22.95 for the ‘Fettucine al Fredo’ (+ $5 for chicken, +$2 peas), and $23.45 for a small 12″ thin crust sausage 2-topping pizza {which is more delicious there now that I think of it as Joe’s isn’t crispy enough like Chicago thin crust should be … go to ‘Candlelite’ 7 miles away for the best of that} would be $85.35, [after tax] $94.53

While I do appreciate not initially being charged for the chicken and peas when I ordered that to be added to the ‘Carbonara’ with the pasta change, and not for for the guanciale (pork) & peas to the ‘Fettuccine Alfredo’ (just the chicken), it still wasn’t worth it for ~$11 less (~13% less) as it just wasn’t a good experience not delicious.

I have been going here for mostly pizza since I moved the neighborhood 3 and half years ago. Ordered the pizza when out-of-town friends visited (raved about it too being a good place in Chicago), have dined in (indoor and outdoor) for the atmosphere (which is good. Live music on Fridays) and have had a good ‘Shrimp Scampi’ pasta multiple times too, but after what happened in this review, I can’t recommend Joe’s (Pizza) anymore. Food needs improvement, and menu needs to be clear.
