We split the #2 combo which comes with 8 wings and 4 giant chicken tenders, 3 sides and 4 sauces (2 for wings, 2 for tenders). We opted to get our sauces on the side, and we’re so glad we did! The chicken was so perfectly seasoned it did not need any sauce! I will say that the Thai Basil is my favorite out of the 4 sauces we got. The Garlic Soy and the Sweet & Spicy were pretty similar to each other, and the Gochujang tasted like Gochujang. They have all the sauces with tasting spoons to try at the counter. If you want super juicy and crispy, battered chicken, go with the wings! The tenders were also double-fried and crunchy but the wings retained their moisture much better!

We ordered our food to-go since we figured we wouldn’t finish it all in-house. They included cutlery, napkins, ketchup, and gloves (for mess-free hands) in the bag.

Such a fun, casual environment with K-pop videos playing in the corner! Also, I really love their Pay-It-Forward campaign where you can donate a meal to someone in need! Wish this was something offered in downtown restaurants where it’s more of a necessity.

If you love crispy food, you should visit Chikin Lickin in Waukee. This restaurant serves Korean Fried Chicken, which is double-fried to make it extra crunchy. It is a casual place where you order at the counter, and the staff is known for being very friendly.
The menu has many tasty choices:
Chicken Wings and Tenders: These are big, juicy, and covered in signature sauces like Garlic Soy or spicy Gochujang.
Korean Corn Dogs: These are fun snacks that are often filled with stretchy cheese.
Sides: You can try waffle fries, egg fried rice, or kimchi for a bit of spice.
Bao Buns: These are soft, fluffy buns filled with meat and fresh veggies.
One of the coolest things about this shop is their “Pay It Forward” wall. Customers can buy a meal for someone else and leave the receipt on the wall so someone in need can eat for free. They even have a sink in the dining area so you can wash your hands after eating messy wings.

The chicken was fresh and hot, and the sauces we tried were fire. I was impressed by the portion size as well. It’s very messy/sticky, so it’s nice they have a sink to wash your hands back by the garbage cans.

I know, another fried chicken place, right? Wrong!!! This fried chicken joint does it right and is worth your time. I have always ate here for lunch and gotten their lunch deal. The garlic buffalo sauce is fantastic! Give it a try.

The pork bao bun was a little fatty.
The chicken sandwich was good but very messy with all the sauce.
The bimbi beef bowl was good but I felt like ratio of rice to everything else was off. Too much rice.
Service was excellent; she let me try the sauces before making a choice and I appreciated it.

The employees are friendly and helpful if you need anything explained. It never feels understaffed and they keep the place clean. That’s a pretty big accomplishment when you mainly sell fried chicken! I’ve tried most of the menu at this point and have yet to find something I didn’t like. Be sure to sample the sauces before you order. They’re all good choices, but it’s so nice to try them before committing to one. Portions on the chicken are large. You think three tenders doesn’t sound like a lot…it is. I always end up sharing or taking some home with me. It reheats way better than you would expect at home, still crunchy! They also keep a pretty wide selection of Soju to have with your meal. The best thing though, as silly as it sounds – they offer gloves, bibs and a hand washing station up front to save you a trip to the bathroom. Absolute GAME CHANGER. Why does no one else offer this?

I recently visited this new Korean Fried Chicken restaurant and had a great experience overall. The portion sizes are generous, and the spicy gochujang sauce was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. I also loved the variety of sauces available, and our server was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to sample each one before ordering. The male server at the front was very helpful in explaining the different bao buns ingredients and personal favourites, which added to the experience.

The chicken burger with its brioche bun was a standout for me, and the decision to pair it simply with pickles allowed the flavors to shine. I appreciated the Coke Zero option too as someone who dislikes diet and avoids full-sugar soda and that tipping starts at 10 percent—though I was happy to leave 15 percent due to the great service.

However, I found the menu a bit confusing and overwhelming; it could definitely be simplified for easier navigation. The bao buns, while good, could use some extra attention to achieve that perfect moist, sticky texture. Additionally, having calorie information on the menu would be a great addition for me as it’s fairly easy to calculate and include and very helpful for those that depend on it. I also think the decor could use some flare, and perhaps some music. Despite these minor issues though, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would recommend this place for anyone looking to explore delicious Korean Fried Chicken with a variety of unique flavors.

Okkkk Chikin Lickin you got our vote hands down!!!

Food was amazing, I loved the fried rice and honey gochujang flavored chicken wings! And even with it being an order at counter restaurant, the service was AMAZING too! We were checked on numerous times and the (what I believe to be) owner even brought our son a new order of wings because the ones he ordered were a little too hot for him plus a complementary dessert!

We will definitely be back and everyone should go try them out too!!!

Holy cow, we’d never been here before, but we’ll certainly be coming back. The Gochujang wings and seasoned waffle fries were amazing. Only got 6 wings, but it’s enough for leftovers. And the service was very friendly. They have all their sauces up front to taste-test.
