Tried a few items here but I can only recommend the red sourdough bread. I also got a morning bun, a ham and cheese roll, and a breakfast sandwich. The bun was ok but it was disappointing. The roll was ok but again nothing I would recommend. The sandwich was strange, the cheese did not pair well with the jam, and the other flavors in the sandwich all wanted attention but didn’t play well with the other flavors, it was just a strange sandwich.

Best bakery in Colorado Springs, hands down! Their bread is amazing. It’s chewy on the middle and fabulously crunchy on the outside. Our favorites are the jalapeno cheddar buns, the fruit and fennel buns (only available on Saturday), the delicious and olive-filled fugasse, and the multi-seeded loaf. But wait, there’s more! They also have a selection of pre-prepared sandwiches and pastries. Our favorites are the potato and chili pies in the pastry crust (kind of like empañadas) and the salmon cream cheese baguette sandwich. Yum! There are plenty of others to choose from as well, but get there early! On Saturdays, lots of the good stuff is sold out by noon. They are open Wednesday thru Saturday and we’ve only been there on Saturdays. Some of our favorites have been sold out before and some may not be available on weekdays, which is definitely an indication of the quality and deliciousness!

Have been getting sandwiches and morning buns here for a while. Great whole loaves of bread. The cookies too. Everything Everything is good.

Best bakery in Colorado by far! Freshly milled sourdough and at high altitude, its so hard to replicate at home. Just off the Santa Fe trail so we make a bike date out of it every Saturday morning and the owner is always there with a kind smile. Live orchestra music makes the line go by fast and sometimes there are local fresh flowers available! Better than any of the farmer’s markets in town! It’s my favorite part of the week. Also, the dark chocolate cookies are the best I’ve ever had. They are toothy, salty and the chocolate is high quality. LOVE!

Oh hello. I was curious about this place because the hours were so limited but holy mother. This place is *outstanding*.
Everything we tried was delicious. Like EVERYTHING. It was all incredibly reasonably priced as well?
Nightingale is mostly just a window to sell their goods out of, so there is no where to sit in inclement weather. That said; we went on a nice Saturday morning and there were a bunch of picnic tables to enjoy our breakfast at.
We got:
-Fennel and fruit roll. Whole wheat roll w licorice and dried cherries and raisins I think. It wasn’t bad by any means but everything else was just so good.
— Morning bun. Good lord inject this into my veins. Cinnamon puff pasty in a muffin like shape. Perfect texture
-Everything roll – croissant scraps mixed with garlic and everything seasoning. Super delicious.
– Italian focaccia. We ate this later in the day but it was fantastic too.
By no means a heathy breakfast, but definitely a delicious one. I completely understand the hype.

I have been a fan of these guys for around 5 years. But for the past couple of years, the bread quality has gone downhill. It is incredibly inconsistent! Sometimes the bread is perfect. But often it is dry and has large air bubble holes in it, making it very hard to put a sandwich together or even make toast. About every other time I go, the bread is dark to the point of being burned on the bottom. Also, having to wait in such a long line all the time is an incredible pain. I took 2 stars off of service for this. The people at the window are absolutely lovely. How about opening the other window more often? PLEASE GET YOUR BREAD BACK TO THE WAY IT USED TO BE!!

Love this place. They have some of the best bread I’ve found in the United States. I now live in Wisconsin but every time I visit family I have to stop and get a half dozen or more baguette. They have a nut bread that my mom loves and my sister goes for their cookies and pastries. Would definitely recommend.

All their menu items are amazing. The cherry walnut bread was divine! And of course I never stop without getting a morning bun!

I love Nightingale. I get bread here often, and have tried almost all the pastries. I’m gluten intolerant, but for whatever reason I do great with their bread! Some reviewers noted that you typically have to stand outdoors in line for quite a while, and that’s true. However, for me that’s part of the charm and part of the experience. It means slowing down in life, enjoying the fresh air, being around people and chatting to a friendly person in line. We could all use a little less convenience and more of simply standing still these days. The breads are all fantastic, the pastries too delicious to resist, and the sandwiches crafted with detailed perfection. Everything is amazing!
And as a bonus, the workers are always kind and calm.

The sourdough bread is a masterpiece. The pastries are great. But seriously, they have to get better at managing the line. It shouldn’t take 5 min for a single person to place a bread order.
