Rubios Coastal Grill is a great choice in the fast casual restaurant segment. The menu is simple: tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, with the usual appetizers you know and love.
The chips and guacamole taste fresh, and I like that I don’t have to look for jalapeños so I can share with my kids.
The burritos were flavorful and the ingredients tasted fresh. They do manage to put plenty of meat in the burritos and it didn’t leave us feeling like they had shorted some ingredients.
Our host was friendly and did us a great service of providing some advice that saved us some money. Looking out for the customer is a rare gift and we’re glad she was engaged with our order to recognize the opportunity.
The restaurant is well-maintained. Our table had been cleaned just before we sat down. The salsas were fresh, and there really was no mess anywhere. As with any fast casual place, the atmosphere is not jarring and allows you to enjoy your meal at a reasonable pace. However, like all other similar restaurants, you will not stay longer that necessary.

I have been to Rubio’s all over the place and when I use my rewards the QR code never works at any location I give my phone number and then it works at this location however the phone number didn’t work so there was no way to get rewards. Not sure if the cashier was doing it right she kept repeating the number back to me and it was wrong. She wrote the phone number down but she kept telling me that it wouldn’t work. I contacted the corporate office and they had some guest service person contact me back not a technical support person to troubleshoot the issue and the troubleshooting steps made no sense at all by asking me to turn off my VPN to get the QR code to work. That doesn’t make any sense at all The person who gave me the troubleshooting steps was just guessing and after I responded via email requesting to be contacted by a technical support person I never got another response. I personally believe that it was just this location and that the person at the cash register was not entering my phone number correctly because the next day I went to another Rubio’s and the phone number worked just fine.

Really enjoyed the island vibe fish tacos on discount for Taco Tuesday. I try fish tacos everywhere I go and these are the 2nd best across the US that I’ve had. And on Taco Tuesday they are easily the most delicious per $ I have had.

When you pay $45 for 2 bowls and a burrito with your kids and the burrito is pure rice and my bowl had a few measly pieces of chicken. I asked and they said that they only give 4oz of chicken. Looks like less. I paid $45 for rice, tortilla and lettuce. Cava or El Pollo Loco will get me more protein and bang for my buck.

Surprisingly good food. Better than you would expect from an “order at the counter” taco spot but the coastal trio tacos and the street corn bowl were really good. The ambiance was lacking as expected but the service and staff were amazingly friendly and kind.
