Russell and his team at Bacco definitely made things right during my most recent visit. The pasta was all cooked perfectly! I can’t say enough about how excellent the service and food is at Bacco. Definitely a Boulder small business I will be continuing to support and recommend!

So my wife and I love ordering from Bacco on date nights when we arent feeling like going out and usually we get the same thing. She gets the papardelle boscaiola and I get the chicken parmigiana. Before tonight we have never had serious complaints but this is the second time in a row that we have ordered and the papardelle in her pasta was undercooked. Last time, it was just barely shy of al dente so we gave it a pass. However, this time was disappointing because most of her noodles were stuck together and the edges were still brittle. Service was excellent and despite my repeatedly stating that I wasnt in a rush, the whole meal came out in about 8 minutes. Clearly something got missed here. I’ve attached a photo of the pasta that stuck together and has the consistency of single layer cardboard in its half cooked state. Bacco staff! We love your food and are willing to pay the price for good attention to detail that we usually get. But for other customers, make sure you specify that you want your pasta fully cooked if you get the papardelle.

Food: best chicken parm and handmade pasta I’ve ever had. I substituted pappardelle for penne and Arabiatta for Alfredo.
Salads were excellent as were the charcuterie options.

Service: we sat at the bar and loved hanging out with Jessica, the bartender.

Atmosphere: great vibe, music and bar seating

Highly recommend

Had a good time but thought the food was just okay.

For the appetizer the eggplant was tough and rubbery and the Buffalo mozzarella was actually a lil dry (usually the opposite problem).

The chicken was swimming in the sauce so was pretty soggy.

Pasta alla Norma was pretty yummy.

When you’re craving unpretentious, genuinely excellent Italian food in a cozy, welcoming space that feels like family, Bacco is the place.

We love that the owners don’t just serve great meals—they actively support the community by hiring local high school and college students.

Perfect for date night, family or friend gatherings, a girls’ night out, or anytime you want to relax, linger, and truly enjoy a meal. ✨

Friday dinner:(~7 pm)

– Walk-in, we(4) got seated immediately. Lovely place, great vibe to go on a double date , recommended by a friend from the city(5yrs). A little bit on the expensive side.

– Ordered Cheesy garlic bread for appetiser, it’s yummy and filling.

-Tried “Gold rush/Golden nugget” martini, it’s okay, a little too much ginger for me.

-Ordered Linguine Scampi(Shrimp) for entree, it’s the nice portion size, well flavoured, and a perfect dish, the number of shrimp was good too. I’d order again and recommend as well.

– Served in 10 min. Server was sweet and accommodating. Space was clean and was little congested. Parking was okay.

The worst chicken parm I’ve ever had. Not breaded. No flavor. Tasted like the chicken had gone bad. It was rubbery too. (I ordered on DoorDash – but this is an easy dish to order takeout.)

Considering the limited options that Boulder has… I will prob go back. The pasta sauce was solid. So will give this place another try at one point.

Really average execution of some simple menu items. Food had very little flavor. Overall, I did not feel like it was worth the money.

Lunch menu was terrific! Bread was nicely toasted, not to crunchy with a side of olive oil. Salad had a good variety of vegetables and was larger than expected as a side. Tried the spinach and ricotta ravioli with bolognese sauce added rich flavor. Overall impressed as a first visit, can’t wait to go back and try more. Maybe for happy hour!

For at least 2 years now, my boyfriend and I frequent Bacco usually on Friday evenings for a 6pm dinner. Jonathan is the manager/bartender. He’s a real people person, remembers my boyfriend’s particular drink he likes, and we see lots of people come in to see Jonathan before getting seated.

I’ve found my favorite dish, which is fairly new to the menu—Chicken Pasta Puttanesca. It’s my regular now 🙂 Everything I love in a pasta dish: lots of tomato, capers, olives, tangy and saucy. Yum.

My only critique is I wish they would mix the chicken in with the sauce so the meat gets saturated with the rest of the dish. It can get dry before the sauce picks up the slack.

Charles likes to mix up his dishes, and he says he’s had pleasant meals almost every time. There was one time with a lobster that was not good, so he avoids the shellfish.
The best meat dish he’s had is the lamb shank—soft and buttery, expertly cooked.

The wine list quite good as well. I’m not well-versed, but Charles is and seems to like it a lot. I usually get the same thing—Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Can’t get enough of it 🙂

This is just solid comfort food. We can count on a good meal here. It’s far enough north to be away from the Pearl Street bustle and as long as we go early enough, we avoid the crowds.
