We ordered the Urban Fries and Chicken tenders basket, and a couple of fountain drinks. Both dishes were pretty good. The sauce was excellent. We ordered the Nashville Hot spice level and it was perfect, next time we plan on trying the two other spicier levels. Glad there’s finally an option for halal fried chicken on this side of town too.
After first walking in, one employee walked to the front, scoffed and shook his head at me and my boyfriend while we waited to pick up our order (which was placed online ahead of time) and then walked off without saying a thing. We waiting for someone to just help us pick up our order and then we were told it would be a few minutes, which was absolutely fine so we grabbed our drink and took a seat.
Once we got our order, we checked it and we had ordered their Chicken and Waffle with Nashville Hot (Plus Urban Fries) which has literally been our go to order since they opened because we love it. Unfortunately, when we opened the food we noticed that the chicken for the waffle was the heat level above Nashville. Which I tried before and it has an obvious darker color and a MUCH hotter heat level. and different scent.
Upon figuring out that the order was wrong, we took the food back and told them that it was the wrong heat level and just wanted to have them change the tender. We didn’t want to make a big deal out of it but if you have ever tried the spice level above Nashville you would know there is a distinct difference, in both taste, smell and looks.
The one who we gave the order to, took the food back to the guy who made it (which was also the same person who scoffed at us) and I listened and watched through the clear glass panel and he kept trying to say that the spice was Nashville and argued about the seasoning “just being dark”. It was very unprofessional and honestly just rude.
They eventually replaced the tender with the ‘correct one’ and you can still see the difference in the spice from the left over seasoning that was left in the bottom of the box from the old tender. The tender is still not Nashville hot it’s just the same seasoning, with just less on the tender. This was something that really left a bad taste in my mouth and it sucks because I used to love coming here but tonight’s service was beyond terrible. I’ve never come here and had service so bad like this, especially because I have seen how nice the owner and manger both are from the many times I’ve been here. This definitely is something that NEEDS to be addressed.
