I got the bbq mix plate and was not impressed.

The bbq rib was all fat.. and that’s where the price differs and is more expensive- the fatty rib- so, that was disappointing to not eat..

The beef was dry and overcooked, and not as delicious as I was hoping this place would be.
The chicken is fine though- no major complaints..

The rice was just reheated and not the greatest tasting- I think I make better rice at home- but being on the go- for work- to a town I don’t frequent- this was not the right stop.

I ended up eating about 1/5 of my meal for $20.
Disappointed.

This location is okay overall, but I was disappointed with the rice bowl presentation compared to other L and L locations I have visited.

The bowl looked full at first glance, but once I started eating, it became clear that a large portion underneath was cabbage, which made the serving appear larger than it actually was. The amount of rice was limited, and the meat portion felt lighter than expected. It came across as more of a presentation trick than a properly filled bowl.

The food itself tasted fine, but consistency and portion transparency matter. At other L and L restaurants, the bowls feel more balanced and filling without the need to bulk it up underneath. I would prefer a straightforward portion rather than something that looks full but is not as substantial as it appears.

I’ve heard bad things about L and L. My experience was the opposite! The portions were great! We got Chicken Katsu, masubis and malasadas. Everything was great! We have been missing malasadas since our last trip to Hawaii and these hit the spot! The staff was also really friendly and our takeout was ready right on time. No complaints!

This place has gone down hill. Took 30 minutes to get my meal to me. Only to get extremely dried out and over cooked chicken. The quality of their rib is a joke(see photo). No restaurant should be serving this. Paid $30 for a trash meal!

It wasn’t horrible. But compared to the Oceanside Blvd location, this was a disappointment. The portion seemed meek. The chicken katsu was overcooked. My kalua pig was dry. The rice and macaroni was awesome. I’m going out of the way to drive to Oceanside next time. Sorry guys. Step your game please.

Their portions are generous . They’ve catered a lot of my family functions without a hitch . Lots of options available regardless of whatever diet you’re on.

If you like your chicken jerky style and triple battered in breading, this is your place! Ordered the chicken curry Katsu. I’ve never had a more dry heavily breaded dish ever. There was so much breading it absorbed all of the curry sauce if there was any on it.

It took 20 minutes from order to table with no other orders to work on besides mine. The cashier who takes orders looked like she didn’t want to be there, which was kind of sad. The loco moco was good as always.

This place is legit!! Food is super tasty every time and I highly recommend the chicken katsu. Crystal and her team are incredible family-oriented people who always make us feel at home. The food is always delicious and vibes are always high

This place has lost its standards in its quality of food. The only thing Hawaiian or Polynesian about this location is the atmosphere. Front staff is always great but the food being provided feels disrespectful to my Hawaiian roots.
