My wife and I had an optometrist appointment, and we decided to check out Shoccu, which was a couple doors down. The restaurant was clean with a simple yet, very appealing wood theme throughout. Our waitress was awesome, and the food was too. Shame on me, I did not take any pictures of our food, but I can tell you it was an appealing presentation. The sushi rolls were amazing. I plan to go back for another round and get some pics. If you happen to be close by, put Shocco on the to-do list because bold savory flavors, crispy textures, and a full belly await you. Oh, as per the waitress, REAL WASABI! BONUS!
ADDED PICS, BECAUSE WE WENT BACK FOR ROUND TWO. SOOO GOOD!

I love the sushi here. It is so fresh. They also have other good dishes. One of the main reasons we always come is the two roll Monday special and yesterday my girlfriends and I came in so we all three got that.. unfortunately we were not told it no longer is a special until we were handed the bills. ;( my one friend was just there last Monday and got that same special when we approached the waitress she said they changed it over the weekend, She also seemed very clueless about the special as well as the new menus. She said she never works on Monday so she didn’t know to tell us. I think it’s important that you train your staff so they know what specials you do/don’t have because none of us would’ve ordered Had we known that it no longer existed. It has been their special for at least five years so I do think the waitress should have honored that price. We were all Very disappointed and can’t say I’ll be back for quite a while and definitely not on a Monday.

Visited again and I was really hoping that I would have a better food experience. I enjoy the glass noodles at various Asian restaurants around town and here at Shoccu they are indicating that they are sweet potato noodles versus the bean thread noodles that I’ve had at other restaurants. In this dish half of the noodles weren’t quite cooked all the way, so they were chewy and came up on the chopstick as a giant chunk of noodles. Otherwise the noodles had very good flavor. I enjoyed the noodles and the chicken and the vegetables that this dish is cooked with and the sauce was good.

Had a chance to visit Shoccu on Illinois Road for dinner and found the place to be underwhelming and maybe average. There are many places to get sushi in town and everybody will have their favorite and tell you that the other place is the best in town. I still will contend that there is no better place than Sakura on West Jefferson next to five guys but to hear about that place you can go over to my review for it.

Here at Shoccu the thing that stood out the most was that it took forever for the service. They really weren’t even that busy. It took forever to get drinks. It took forever for orders to be taken. It took forever for the food to come.

When the food finally did arrive, I thought it was good but not outstanding. I enjoyed the spring roll appetizer but again I’ve had better. The sushi rolls including the caterpillar roll and the crunch Munch were good but not outstanding. The salmon entree was tasty, well cooked, and flavorful.

This place would probably get a higher overall rating. Had the service been better. Still, it’s worth giving it a shot and seeing if you can find something that you haven’t had at some of the other sushi restaurants in town.

We stopped off after a massage in Fort Wayne and we were so glad we did! The food was amazing! We literally came at an odd time and were one of a few in the place. The sushi (Komet, Playboy, and Tincap) was amazing as too was the potstickers and edamame! So glad to visit, wonderful staff, and a great place!!!

We are regulars here and my whole family loves it! The sushi options are amazing including our favorites Playboy roll, fire roll, cherry blossom roll, and crunch much roll. We recently went for my son’s birthday by request. The owner was so nice to us! We will be back soon.

Stopped by for lunch for the first time and it’s now my favourite restaurant! I’m not the biggest fan of sushi but I’ve been trying to figure out what I like and don’t like! The food was hot and fresh and fast! The price was pretty decent as we had enough food to feed 3 or 4 people haha. I recommend the Playboy Roll.

Wow, really impressed. Probably my 2nd favorite sushi place in Fort Wayne. They have a really good lunch deal too! Craft beers as well! Owner also is a part of Naked chopsticks so the menu is similar.

Shoccu is a unique and delicious find in a strip mall in Southwest Fort Wayne. They offer a fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine, with a focus on fresh and flavorful ingredients.

I recently had the opportunity to try their lunch special, which included a combo of salmon nigiri and bulgogi with broccoli. The salmon was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bulgogi was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The broccoli was also steamed to perfection.

Shoccu is also one of the few restaurants in Fort Wayne that offers Dolsot Bibimbap. This dish is a must-try for any fan of Korean cuisine. It features a savory mixture of rice, vegetables, and meat or tofu, all cooked in a hot stone pot.

The service at Shoccu was friendly and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we had everything we needed.

Prices at Shoccu are on the average to high side for lunch. However, I believe the quality of the food and the level of service justify the price.

Overall, I highly recommend Shoccu to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience in Fort Wayne.
