My in-laws and I stopped here before our dinner reservation nearby. My father-in-law actually remembers this place from his last visit 6 years ago and was excited to come back. It’s a very cute and quaint local vibe brewery. With a selection of their local made peers and also traditional cocktails and spirits. They also have their own specialty cocktails one that they were seasonally free training was the apple martini which my mother-in-law ordered and loved!

Love it here! Inside and outside are both beautiful spaces. They have a few beers of their own that are phenomenal as well as a guest tap list, wine, cocktail, etc. The food is great and they have happy hour M-F. Plenty of TVs to watch whatever game is on and friendly servers to help you. Dog friendly patio so you can bring your bestie. Something for everyone, come check it out!

Great spot to visit if you’re in Hillcrest. They have a nice variety of cocktails and beers, along with standard American bites like pizza, wings, pretzels, garlic knots, and salads. They have indoor seating and a cute outdoor patio that’s pet friendly.
Staff are friendly. They will kindly split checks for bigger parties if asked at the start, making it ideal for events where people need to come and go. A solid go-to happy hour spot.

We love Hillcrest Brewing! It’s a nice spot to grab a beer and hang with friends. The drinks, food, and service are always great! They have “hoppy hour” every day from 2-6 pm which gets you a couple bucks off beer and wine. If you need food recs, I HIGHLY recommend the garlic nuts and the cheeseburger pizza to share! I kid you not, I crave their cheeseburger pizza and will literally go to Hillcrest Brewing just to order it. In general, you can’t go wrong at Hillcrest Brewing!

The vibes in here are good, and the staff is friendly. However we went out our way to come here on Sunday, and the food was shockingly bad. We don’t even know where to begin. The pizza was flimsy and tasteless. The crust was like cardboard. We like thin crust, but this was a cracker texture. Yet also mushy in the middle weighed down by what appeared to be an entire can of olives. Veggies were very overcooked. The wings were the worst we’ve ever had anywhere, seemingly boiled or otherwise texturally ruined and then tossed in a flavorless sauce that didn’t absorb or stick to the chicken at all, and wasn’t good. The ranch was awful. It didn’t taste like ranch, and it didn’t taste good regardless. The celery served with the wings was not fresh. The plates are a strange wooden texture that I can’t imagine they are able to sanitize. Tipped 20% and didn’t complain, it’s San Diego and we are nice people. But this was so atrocious and every single review is good, which mystifies us. Our food was inedible. I hope this was a one off for them because the vibes truly are good there. But really can not recommend the food at all. We are sorry to have to leave this review but we were looking forward to this meal and it was just bad. Signed – Crocodile & Spaghetti

Jason and team are always amazing. THE BEST WINGS IN SD! My wife and I have been coming here for 12 years and the staff has seen our kids grow up! Truly special!

First time trying their wings and they’re good. I got the spicy wings (not spicy to me, but good flavor). They also have buffalo, BBQ among other flavors. The wings are baked, so they will take 20 min or more to arrive.
They have a huge selection of beers; mostly their own and some guest beers, cocktails, wine and NA beers.
Whether you choose to sit outside, inside or by the bar, you know you’d get great service and you might even get to interact with the regulars and the staff there. I love this place!

Went for a Doggy Social, and it was super social, other punters came say hello to you and the pup of course. But the food was amazing, im Italian and those are probably the best meatballs I tried in SD. The sauce was also chunky with fresh basil!

This past Sunday, we wanted to try a new place. The door wench here has no sense of humor and a miserable disposition. She made it very clear that dogs are not appreciated at this establishment.
SO, We went to Uptown Tavern instead and had a fun time where Winston was welcomed by both staff and customers.
The food, atmosphere and clientele were exceptional at Uptown. If you have a pooch, suggest Uptown instead!!
