Two Wheeled Wireman
Excellent quality food for a small little truck stop diner. Super fresh and they make all their own desserts and sourdough from scratch. Highly recommend.

Buckle up, this is going to be a long story. I’m normally not one to write negative reviews, but what happened last night to me and my friend really didn’t sit right with me. We were on our way from Grand Forks, North Dakota, traveling in the middle of the snowstorm to get back to Wisconsin. We didn’t eat all day, since we had to move my friend into her new place, so we were really hungry and we just wanted to eat a real, hot, home-cooked meal. Ahead of us, places were closing as time ticked on since it was already past 9pm, but we couldn’t go any faster because the roads were horrible. I looked online to see what was around us that was still open; we would take anything we were so hungry, and found the Pitchfork in Barnesville. We stopped in there, and the waitress said the kitchens had closed a while ago. However, she gave us a recommendation of a lovely café over at the Rothsay truck stop, only about 15 min away. She said they had good food and meals there, and that it was still open. We were so excited! Finally, we could get something delicious to eat and rest after a couple hours of stressful driving.
So we arrive, 9:50pm. We both walk in, and notice the sign on the door says it closes at 10pm. We made it just in time! After about a minute, a young lady walks out of the kitchen to greet us. We ask if it’s okay to still get something to eat, there is still about 10 min left until they close and we’re super hungry. The first thing she says to us, is that her parents are coming to pick her up soon. We were confused, because there was still time to maybe get something quick. But then she said that she has a lot of stuff to do. Isn’t serving your customers a part of that? So since she wasn’t going to help us, we turned to leave and she said how sorry she was. No, I’m the one who is sorry. I know not to stop in here again, even if it’s the last café on earth, I don’t care how good the reviews are. You had two willful, ready to pay customers, who were hungry, cold, and stressed, in the middle of a long drive, and you couldn’t have given us even an ounce of service even though there was still 10 min left until closing time.
I’ve been in customer service, so I understand what it’s like to have customers walking in late, right before closing, right as you’re cleaning up for the day. But you are still on the clock, within the time limit of what the business hours are. You are still being paid to work. You’re supposed to provide service to people while the place you work for is still technically open. I’m honestly so disappointed…I was really looking forward to that home-cooked meal. Instead, we stopped in Fergus Falls at the McDonald’s there. I’ve never felt so grateful to have such mediocre fast food until that moment. At least we were given service and were finally able to eat something warm.

Excellent food. Hard to find good food at a decent price while on the road. Most truck stops are way overpriced. Hot crispy wings, delicious crispy fries, and scrumptious black and blue burger.

Had a very tasty and filling breakfast today at the diner. Hamburger steak and eggs with hash browns and toast. Hash browns were done perfect, with nice crispy texture, and a generous portion. The hamburger steak was also generously portioned. The only minor complaint on the burger was that I asked for it medium rare, and it came served as medium well. I can overlook that on a burger. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the sour dough bread toast could have been toasted just a bit more to the brown side. Overall a nice delicious breakfast, reasonably priced at $13 and filled me up for the day. I would likely have this again when I stop through

Stopped here because the blizzard is bad. Ordered chicken breast dinner with mushroom. It was great.

Great hot food. Eggs were hot and tasty. Hashbrowns were perfectly crispy on the outside and fully cooked on the inside. Service was quick and friendly. Small cafe worth the stop when traveling through on the interstate.

This is not a knock against the restaurant itself the two ladies working there were busting their butts the kitchen staff on the other hand I don’t know what was going on, but it seemed like they’re running around like chickens without their heads absolutely super slow as far as getting people food waiting one or two hours just for a simple burger, little ridiculous but it is what it is
