Scream Building
I got off work and figured I’d stop in for a few drinks. I got my drink and was relaxing watching the Cavs on the tv. Then I started listening to the bartender start to tell just the worst dad jokes ever. The other patrons started to join in and when I say terrible jokes, I mean, just the worst. So as I was getting ready to leave I went to pay, I handed the bartender a couple of $10 bills and he then slid them back and looked at me and goes, “oh im sorry, this is a singles bar”.

I dont say this lightly.. worst bar I’ve been to in a long time. People were trying to fight left and right. It sucks .. trying to go out and have a good experience and it turns to crap ..not once but twice … draws a negative aggressive crowd. For someone who makes friends everywhere I go, its seems like amherst’s problematic people hang out here . Avoid!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this needs to be shared. One of this bar’s bartenders followed an older man who had just left 5 points…all the way to Cedar Pub’s entrance, yelled briefly to get his attention, and when he turned around — while holding his wife’s hand — the bartender sucker punched him in the face without warning. He was knocked unconscious, broke his teeth, and had to be taken by ambulance to the ER.
The bartender denied it when questioned by police, but video evidence identified him and he was arrested. He was charged with felonious assault and later accepted a plea deal for a lesser charge. He is now a convicted felon and on probation for two years.
What’s most concerning is how this bar chose to handle it. Instead of cutting ties with him immediately, they continued to associate with him and even submitted an impact statement to the court. This is how they deal with one of their employees assaulting a customer.

Won’t go there again. Waited 20 minutes and bartenders were busy. Another couple and my wife and I were waiting. A couple split tails came in and the bartenders went strait to them. I voiced my opinion and walked out. Such disrespect

Bartenders were clearly interested in their regulars and socializing over severing our party of six who were ready to build a tab. It wasn’t that busy, plenty of open seats. The DJ was fun, but very loud (I realize some younger folks go out for just that reason ;)). The bathroom was gross! Won’t be back anytime soon, but will be uptown spending local.

Came here for the first time tonight. Very clean and nice, super friendly clientele and staff. Was disappointed they don’t serve food. Mainly, they need to update the wine selection!! Sutter Home is horrible, not even drinkable. They have lovely cocktails and top shelf liquor- why the awful wine selection?!?!
