We took our motorcycle on a quick road trip to Napa. After looking up spots to eat, we selected this place. It was a easy location to find. The restaurant was very nice and clean. The staff was warm and friendly. My ribs were a bit dry and chewy. The cornbread was a little fried too long. I’m sure it might have been an off day and will be better the next time.

This place is cool. It is an old bowling alley. They took the lanes and made all the dining tables with the wood.
Food was excellent. We had 1/2 Bbq chicken, ribs, beans and collard greens, hot water corn bread (only Sunday), brisket, ribs.
Staff was efficient and friendly.
Lots of parking on street but may be challenge when its busier. We’ll be back

All I have to say is if you want BBQ done the right way you have to go to STATELINE ROAD SMOKEHOUSE in Napa! It is hands down the best BBQ I ever had. If this is KC BBQ then I don’t want to try anything else. I came across this place through a food video that popped up in my YouTube feed. I didn’t know this place existed. But when me wife and I got there the vibe of the whole place was amazing. The customer service was top notch!

But most of all the food was an A++++. The ribs were so flavorful. Their homemade bbq sauce took the flavor to another level with their meats. I personally love the hot bbq sauce. The brisket was juicy, fatty. And super tender. Their sausage link was made to perfection that had a perfect snap. The flavor profile for each meat and sides were so unique.

Now into the side, which were on a whole other level. Who makes potato salad with minced pork belly? They do! I have to say it is really addicting and I can eat that all day. The Mac and cheese and Rancho Gordo beans and greens were also a 10/10!!! My wife and I will go back to try the rest of the menu. You have to try this place because you will not be disappointed and it will be blow you away!!!

After our meal I got to meet Chef Darryl. He was the most down to earth and friendliest person. Talking to him I can see his heart and passion for this place, especially for the food he creates. He even took the time and showed us the smokers in the back. The 80’s vibe was ! Everything in this place just works! Thanks Chef Darryl and staff for being so amazing! We will be back and we are taking everybody with us.

Came through on a Sunday and discovered the secret Sunday fried chicken sandwich special, and wow, this thing is no joke. Hella spicy, super crispy, still juicy, and just flat-out delicious. The bun was soft, the pickles were nice and tangy without being too sweet (big win for me), and it came with a chive aioli on top—was told it would be ranch, but the aioli was actually a nice upgrade. The chicken was coated in a spicy “Nashville” style sauce that brought a lot of heat and good flavor.Grabbed a small curly fries on the side, and they came with more of that aioli for dipping, which worked perfectly. Also tried the brisket sandwich, which came with a little side of marinated sweet pickles, onions, and red bell peppers—good combo with the meat. They were a little heavy-handed with the BBQ sauce inside the sandwich, so next time I’ll ask for the sauce on the side. I sampled a small side of the spicy BBQ sauce too; it was just okay for me—on the sweeter side and not as spicy as the name implies.Overall, I’d definitely go back to try more of their BBQ plates and some of the salad options. Washed everything down with an on-tap mai tai, which hit the spot. Between the gospel music playing and Sunday football on three big TVs, it was a pretty fun Sunday vibe—good food, good drinks, and a lively atmosphere.

Stateline Road Smokehouse is a great addition to Napa! The staff is genuinely friendly, approachable, and always serving with a smile—they really make you feel welcome.

The brisket and burnt ends were decent, but I found them a bit bland and could have used more seasoning to really bring out that bold BBQ flavor.

One small thing: when the team was describing the menu, it felt a little rushed. I wish they had slowed down just a bit so I could really picture and crave the dishes they were recommending—it would’ve made the experience even better.
Still, the atmosphere is clean and modern, the portions are generous, and it’s clear they care. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Ribs were fabulous! Loved the potato salad as well as the beans & greens. Happy to have the pickles & pickled red onions too. FYI – they close up early, so don’t wait too long for dinner.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience. We ordered takeout on a Sunday night. Available within 30 minutes and we picked it up ourselves. Cost: $56 for 3 items. The “spicy chicken” was inedible due its extreme heat of probably chili ️ peppers. Basically 2 pieces of thigh meat with tons of coatings. Seriously disappointed. My partner had the pulled pork sandwich which was thrown onto a stale roll that we could not eat. We also served a side of beans with collard greens. Hey it’s Napa and I get the $20 price point per item. But please create a much better product!

This was my third visit in three days, and that alone should say a lot. Killer brisket & ribs, to Mac and cheese and garlic potato salad..The BBQ at Stateline Smokehouse is incredible, but what really made this place special was the people.

The team was incredibly kind and welcoming, taking their time while servicing and slicing the food and making the whole experience feel relaxed and personal.

On my third and final visit, Darryl, the owner, pulled me aside and showed me around. He explained the wood they use and their cooking and cooling process, and you could genuinely feel how much he loves BBQ.

It meant a lot that an owner would take time out of a busy day to connect with a regular customer like that. You don’t get food this good without passion behind it, and Stateline Smokehouse BBQ clearly has both. Can’t wait to come back! Thanks Darryl & your team!

I was so excited to try this place so on date night without the kids we went. We tried the ribs, burnt ends, pulled pork, special Sunday fried hot chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, and the Mac and cheese. My husband’s favorite thing was the hot chicken, unfortunately too spicy for me but he enjoyed it! My favorites were in the sides, the max and cheese was my favorite and the potato salad was good and different. Now.. As for the rest of the BBQ, it was good, tender and had good flavor but I searched for it under all the bbq sauce it is drenched in and after a few bites it all felt like the same taste. Pulled pork is drenched in sauce, they put bbq sauce on top of the ribs, they coat the burnt ends in it too. I’d love this place more if they didn’t put so much bbq sauce on and left it for the consumer to put on it themselves so I could have had a choice in the amount. Sort of felt like eating bbq sauce with the meat vs the actual meat with BBQ sauce. While we enjoyed the friendly service and the chance to try, I don’t know we’ll be back but still a solid choice if you don’t mind lots of sauce!

Omg the service here was so amazing. Staff are friendly and approachable. Our food was decent. The cornbread flapjack was an interesting twist on cornbread which I enjoyed. The Yukon gold potato salad was a bit under seasoned for me but I really enjoyed the pork and chicken flavors but unfortunately the meat was pretty dry. The pickled vegetables were not for me which was disappointing as I typically love pickled stuff. The curly fries were decent and crunchy but the aioli that came with it was amazing and I want a jar of it. The condition of the restaurant was very nice and well kept. I would love to return and try some other items like there Mac and cheese.
